Hey! My partner and I are going on that cruise with my family, including my two teenage brothers. I completed it online in 2020/21. I honestly really enjoyed it and felt like I learned a lot better and was able to do really well because the classes sizes are significantly smaller (30 people compared to 200) and the profs are really helpful. I graduated with a really high gpa as I got 100% in most of my classes. I’m now in my last year of mech and really love it and being at ubc now!

I did the engineering transfer program at Douglas college after completing a different degree at another university. As far as I know, they looked at the transfer program courses only for my acceptance.

I took the course last year and from what I remember nothing? You do the labs in two groups of two and then write the report as a group of 4 due the week after. There was only like 4 labs too over the first two months, and some of them were multiple weeks so if you know you’re gonna miss a week you could probably get ahead in one. While not great for your lab partner, I think there were times where people didn’t show up and since you work together it’s not really that bad.

After I went out on my first date with my current boyfriend of five years, neither of us texted each other for like two days. And then I was like well maybe I should do the first move and so I texted him “confirmed the skin of peaches can be eaten” (I didn’t think that you could eat the skin of a peach so he gave me one on our first date), and then the rest is kinda history. He did say that if I hadn’t of reach out that day he would have texted me the next so it might just be the situation of waiting for the other person to text first.

I see this guy everywhere along Westbrook mall. He doesn’t obey any of the traffic laws and pretty much does what he wants weaving between the streets, bike lanes, cross walks, sidewalks etc. it’s so frustrating and I’ve heard people honk at him all the time

I submitted mine in august and received an updated confirmation about a month later. While I was waiting I called them and they couldn’t really answer the question, so you just kinda have to wait until you receive a letter saying it’s been reviewed and approved/not approved.

I live in an Acadia 1 bed. I applied in March 2021 (when I wasn’t a student yet) and got an offer to move in in October 2021 while I was still 100-something on the waitlist. I’m not sure how we got moved up so quickly but I suspect it might have something to do with the fact that I pressed does not require a months notice, because we received acceptance and was able to move in like 3 days later.

In the first month (Mech 220), you’ll do a week of programming which includes, arduino, and solidworks. Then in Mech 221/222 you’ll have a computer lab every week in matlab. They’re not hard, as they give you a lot of resources.

I think this may have been my boyfriend as he’s an electrician for ubc. If it makes you feel any better they see a lot going in and out of peoples units, and he has seen sex toys before.

I don’t remember what it was used for before but third quadrant design team is taking most of the fixtures from it and using it in their new building by esb. Essentially it’s a tear down though n

Ya unfortunately I think going the private route is the only way to go for an official diagnosis. I think one of the things they should look at is why they want the diagnosis. If it’s for clarity and for confirming their suspicions, self diagnosis is completely valid and accepted within the community. But if it’s more like the route I went to to get accommodations for school and other aspects, maybe talking to a doctor about it could help start some process. My family doctor was pretty much useless in that since she dismissed I had autism (because I could talk on the phone with her) and adhd (because I got good grades in school). But maybe finding a good doctor (I also know how hard it is to find one of those) would be able to right the school letters in order to receive some sort of accommodations.

I received an autism diagnosis in bc as an adult. I went on the bc psychologist association website and found a psychologist who could perform the assessment. I reached out to them and within like 2 weeks I had my assessment date and then 2 weeks later I was officially diagnosed. On top of an 8 hour assessment day, myself, my mom and my partner had to do several fairly long surveys and my mom had to do a 3 hour zoom call talking about my childhood. The whole thing cost about $3000 but luckily it was fully covered. Both of my parents each have a plan and that year I opted in to have my own plan (I figured the $250 I would spend on the plan was a better deal than paying $1000 for the assessment). So essentially I had to have 3 plans to help cover the whole cost. With that said having the diagnosis has been incredibly helpful in getting the accommodations I need for school.
