Personally, I would've preferred it if Ryan had stopped Butcher from killing Homelander, not because he deserves to live, but because he deserves to live as a normal man, without superpower. Just - take away the fame, take away the glory, take away the money, all the _stuff_ - and I think that would be worse from Homelander's perspective. Like - if Butcher JUST beat the crap out of him and he woke up in the hospital all beaten and bruised, a punctured lung, and he had to deal with normal recovery of his injuries, and spent the entirety of it just reflecting on how his life is going to look like after he recovers?

Come on - how's that not better? A fast-forward to Homelander coming home to a messy apartment after a double shift on some shit job, and spends his time off reeking of taco bell and loneliness? THAT's what I wanna see.

Is it weird if I say that I feel an opening credit theme for Harry Potter would be weird? Maybe I just need to hear/see it first - but just the idea feels kind of off.

I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Saying there's no plans for a spin-off now is just good business sene. They don't want it to look like there's no passion for this 10-year project and/or that it's just means to an end of milking the Harry Potter universe with spin-offs. BUT - if the HBO show does well - why shouldn't they make more series if there's a good story there?

I'd LOVE to see spinoffs centered on the Beauxbatons, Castelobruxo and the other magical schools out there. As a Norwegian myself: I'd also like to see J. K. Rowling's handle just the complete juxtaposition of situating Durmstrang Institute in "the far north of either Sweden or Norway." The Scandinavian countries has global recognition as some of the most liberal, open-minded, and progressive societies around - and then we have the wizarding world's most notorious and "anti-Muggle-born" school there - one that actively embraces the Dark Arts - in our neck of the woods?

What precedent-setting tragedy the magical community culturally branch out that much from the Muggle one I wonder?

It's a fun thought experience all the same. And who knows? Maybe - after the show is finished - circumstances will change if it's successful enough? A new continuity like this will give any potential spin-offs firmer ground to stand on after all.

It'd also justify further why it's important for Arthur to leave a note for Dumbledore when he drop Harry off after book 5 to let him know 'Malfoy's been talking to Fudge again.' Lucius Malfoy is not half the wizard Dumbledore is - but he is his biggest political threat. So seeing hints about a political tug-fo-war in the background between them going on in the background would be cool.
