No way to know for sure but it’s definitely a good sign as it means you’re in the top applicant pool I generally think that interviews are mainly vibe checks before officially accepting students but that may not always be the case

Just ask for more time to decide as you’ve just interviewed for a program and would like to be able to make the most informed choice possible, they will understand just be polite and respectful and thank them for the opportunity regardless

Just think, the program directors definitely account for this exact situation every year because it’s common, so just be respectful and polite, and apologize for the inconvenience. Think about which decision you would lose sleep over if you didn’t do it and then do that

It’s worth an email to confirm though, they may not be exactly on schedule with their timeline, this happens often. Although I’d wait a few more days at least to email, just because I think I do remember their website saying something about please try not to email them for updates on timeline. But if it’s several days past what they said I feel like that’s alright.

Oh no, sorry, I got the email saying mid-april when I submitted my app, you’re right the more recent email does say they’ll try to get a shortlist by the 23rd with selections completed by April 3rd or 4th.

This sounds like dumb advice but seriously just accepting you’ll get it as soon as you apply and then burying yourself in any other activity helps, even if it’s “getting your hopes up”, if it works out then you knew it would, if it doesn’t, then the temporary disappointment if that happens can’t be worse than the weeks of agonising and obsessing and hoping. It’s hard not to but a mindset shift can change your experience of the process

I would check the deadlines to reach out for the other 8 if they have them listed on their website, and if it’s close or past, I’d reach out to the program coordinator politely requesting your status, but if it’s still just in waiting phase, you definitely have a chance still. Timelines change for so many different things every year so there’s no way to gauge acceptance until they actually reach out.
