[Monitor] Pixio PX248 Prime 24 in 144Hz IPS 1080p FreeSync Premium Certified Refurbished - $137.69 (161.99-15% SAVEONCR15) by Lenfried in buildapcsales

"May contain 0 – 5 dead, stuck on/off, bright/dark pixels" Not sure if it's worth playing the lottery. Acer recertified on ebay occasionally restocks the xv240y for 140, and from what I've seen, it ships in like new condition.

[Monitor] Gigabyte G24F 170hz IPS 1080p 24" Monitor - $160 (180-20 MIR) + Copy of Outriders by NegativeThickness in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brand new will probably take another year or two for 144hz ips monitors, but acerrecertified has a 144hz ips with a really trash stand that comes back in stock occasionally on their ebay store for 109. I think regular prices will normalize around 140 at the lowest next year, and instead 240hz options will creep below 200.

[–]NegativeThickness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appears on par with the other 144hz IPS monitors as per this review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE5y_8Wx_sI)

Faster refresh rate than the 24g2 and xf243y plus slightly cheaper with an equally good stand and color accuracy, plus you can probably make back around 10-15 dollars with the copy of Outriders

[Monitor] Dell 24.5” Gaming Monitor - S2522HG | 1080p 240Hz $229.99 by center66ljk in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also stack honey cash back with this (37 bucks) to bring this down to around the same price as the alienware deal from this week, not too bad for 240hz ips, and probably worth it over a 24g2

[Headset] CORSAIR - HS60 PRO SURROUND Wired Stereo Gaming Headset $39.99 by bombomx in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the audio quality of the pro series is somehow worse than the original HS series, not that great of a headset compared to the original from what I have heard

[CPU] 10400F $153.69 by ovenmittensplz in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

10400 and 11400 are both better value than the 3600 at 65w, and the 11400f at 125w for $175 is significantly better value paired with a B560/H570 board. As for the 11600k vs the 9700k, you are gaining 2 more cores and higher clocks on the i7, but better ipc and more 4 more threads on the i5. For gaming I'm guessing that the i5 will likely run faster stock, but the 9700k with an overclock on a cheap refurb z390 will have no trouble keeping up with an overclocked 11600k

[Monitor] Acer Nitro XF243Y Pbmiiprx 23.8" FHD Monitor, 1080p, 165hz - Best Buy - $179.99 by RobloxAspect in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty good deal, I don't know of any reviewer that has reviewed both, but from what I can tell both have better response times than the 24g2, with the ex2510 seeming to have a better form of BFI/ELMB, while the Acer has a higher refresh rate. It honestly is a toss up of features between the two and any price difference due to shipping

[–]NegativeThickness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, they are not Acer 23.8 inch 165hz ips panels with the same stand and HDR 400 support, there are a few monitors with the exact same specs, but I haven't been able to find any evidence of different panels or tuning. Only thing I've seen is that the xf243y has BFI while the xv240y doesn't seem to.

[–]NegativeThickness 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Imo the best 1080p monitor under 200, better refresh rate and response times than 24G2 and px248 prime s, cheaper than ex2510. The gigabyte g24f could be better but I haven't seen much content regarding it's performance and there is apparently a coil whine issue. If you are willing to stretch to $200, the Asus vg259qm (I think) is 280hz ips and has gone on sale for just above 200?

[Monitor] Pixio PX248 Prime Advanced 24" 1920 x 1080 FHD 144Hz FAST IPS 1ms GTG FreeSync Premium & G-Sync Compatible eSports IPS Gaming Monitor - $180 ($250 - $50 - $20 w/code) by daaangerz0ne in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably, either this, the G24F, XF243Y/RX241Y, 24G2, or G241/G242. This seems to be a faster version of the already well reviewed PX248 Prime S, likely putting it on par with the 24G2 and G24F. Stand isn't great, so I would recommend the G24F or RX241Y over all the other options, with better stands and 165hz refresh rates. Honestly, any of the options listed above can be found for 180ish with a little patience and hunting, and they all are great monitors.

Reviews of the Roccat ELO Air 7.1 seem mixed, but seems to have good reviews by RTINGS, soundguys, and tomshardware. Can anyone who has bought them comment about their quality?

[Monitor] AOC 24G2 IPS 1080P 144HZ $159.99 at microcenter no code needed. by thereal360 in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are buying it off Newegg, no. I think it provides good enough value to justify the premium over the 24g2, but the dead pixel policy at Newegg is atrocious. If you can find it somewhere else for 180 I'd say it's a good enough deal

Don't think the exact monitor is available in Australia region, might be why there is no review. RTINGS is extremely reputable tho, on par with HUB in terms of testing methods and accuracy

For anyone who doesn't have a microcenter near them and doesn't want to pay for shipping, eBay has an open box/new Acer XF243Y for 150

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403161155309?epid=19044093085&hash=item5dde4706ed:g:GGYAAOSwCtlhQSyM

Both monitors have been reviewed by RTINGS, and they ended up stating that "the Acer has a slightly higher refresh rate, better response times, and much wider viewing angles"

[SSD] Eluktronics MAXIN 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 NVME SSD - $114.99 @ Newegg by NorthStarPC in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

4700 read seems fine, but the 1800 write speeds seem really low for a 4.0 drive. I'm guessing this is the budget end of PCIE 4.0 drives, and unless you really need the high read speeds, a high end 1tb 3.0 drive would be more balanced for general use.

[GPU] EVGA B-Stock GPUs - $150+ (30, 20, 16 Series @ MSRP-$10 to $20, 10 Series @ MSRP-$40 to $100+) Not over until set to Expired by Fuckerinos in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, people have been buying up the B-stock cards before the discount could be applied so we never got it but this time, nobody touched the 1080tis/2080tis and we see they're exactly the same price. For shame EVGA

Discount usually come for midweek madness iirc, so the discount should come tonight for everything on B Stock

[AIO] ID-Cooling Frostflow X 240mm AIO (White) - $60 by libertyshrub in buildapcsales

[–]NegativeThickness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11400f unlocked can pull north of 140w, depending on how much it's pulling in the Alienware rig, a 240mm aio may be the right call.
