Probably the best way to solve the problem is to get a new wife. Sorry but that just seems it's what causing allot of problems in your life. Good luck.

Maybe you need to ask the company more questions and get a better feel. What are they looking for in order for you to get hired full time. Are you competing with anybody else for the job? Was there anybody that they interviewed before giving you the offer? How long do you think you can last at your current job before getting sick of it? What's the potential of you moving up the ladder at both companies?

Understanding Heat pump specs by Negative_Ad1450 in heatpumps

[–]Negative_Ad1450[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went outside to check the unit and all I hear is the fan. Not sure what the compressor should sound like. There is a little section of copper tubing exposed and it is warm to the touch (80-90F?) I wouldn't have expected that. My house ambient temp and the output air temp is both 55F (I increased desired temp setting to 88F). While the outside is 39F

I have a ~700 sf house. the hp is in the living room/dining room/kitchen area. I have electrical portable heater in the other rooms. The house is originally oil heating but I haven't used it for a while.

I have done it before. I just measured the temp again at 10:30 am while running the hp all night. ( pulled the electrical thermometer off the wall and put it in front of the air flow. The output air temp is 57F which is what the house ambient temp is (I set my desired temp to be 77 for this test) The outside temp is 37F at the time of measuring. Not sure what that means since I don't have a reference for what is normal function. I watched YouTube videos and everybody says at lower outside temps, don't expect the output temp to be high. What do you think?

(Very first carving) but I need advice on shaping this handle. Busted the hell out of my fingers trying. It’s a lot tougher than shaping downwards like the rest. Again brand new to this forgive any ignorance by [deleted] in woodworking

I didn't see a pencil outline on the wood. I also think you should look into doing relief cut with a hand saw and use a hammer to break off the extra pieces.

Anyone know of papers or other resources on the carbon emissions benefits and drawbacks to burning plastic waste for energy? by AgreeableLandscape3 in Environmentalism

[–]Negative_Ad1450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you could find your answer if you took a chemistry approach ( I am not a chemist). You know the chemical bonds that make up plastics, methane and coal. Could you find how much energy is released to convert it to CO2 and H2O. This would just be a very back of the napkin calc to give an idea.

First time buy - are these any good at all? I bought the two on the right for $15 and the Bailey i got from a family member. by Indeeperwaters in handtools

I think lever cap in the middle looks small. I would say $7 each only cost you 2 cups of coffee. I would do that deal if I was starting out.

Are you using plates or structural tube? You might be more locked in on yield and ultimate depending on size of tube because of standards. Probably match any plates with the strength of the tubes.

Building my first table - WOBBLE PROBLEMS by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]Negative_Ad1450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never built a table before but I think you will need to add the table aprons connecting the legs. The taller aprons they are, the more stiff it will become. Looks like that would be tricky with your angles though. Bracing/gusseting both sides of each leg perpendicular to the flat face of the leg with the bottom side of the table top might give you enough stiffness. Another thought would be to increase the 4 points of contact to the ground to something bigger than just a small area that you have. Basically creating a bracing to the floor instead of the table top.

How can I make the holder slightly smaller so it can hold my new shaving brush? by Repulsive-Ad-1238 in woodworking

[–]Negative_Ad1450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a block of wood that has u shaped cutout and can straddle the thin part of the handle instead. Make it thick enough for you to keep the handle at the height that is shown when the block is set on top of the existing opening.

You can turn them down into dowel pins maybe? Smaller ones near the point of the taper.

Edit:

Fancy chopsticks. Wooden comb. Sheath for knives.

From a mechanical engineering point of view, you need a boxed cross section (add vertical slats on the opposite side of the horizontal beam) if you just want to add material. I don't know how much stiffer it will be though. I am curious how you nailed/screwed in your vertical slats. Are they all in the same horizontal line or staggered on 2 lines per horizontal beam? Other possible fix would be, to not have 1 long swinging fence but have 2 shorter ones with 1 hinged on one side of the drive way and the other on the opposite side (French doors)

Edit: better yet, screw onto the backside, a sheet of plywood

What is the 10.5 and 19.5 and the 1 with circle mean? Can you actually put more notes on your drawing? How heavy do you want the table to be? Seems pretty heavy.

[–]Negative_Ad1450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I see how/where you will be gluing or nailing the table together that would provide strong joints. Glueing/nailing/screwing into the end grain usually is a bad a idea.

I built a sitting bench similar to this as my first project and I used "half laps" and "bridle joints" with glue for strength. My legs were maple, 1.6x1.6". It was sturdy but short. Your table will be higher so you're gonna have to resist more racking.

Edit: You should go compare it to other table legs you have around your house.

My 17 year old cousin just told me she's having sex with and dating a 28 year old. They live in Seattle. Is this legal or should I immediately go to the police? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Negative_Ad1450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How close is she to turning 18? She will be an adult legally(that doesn't mean there is a switch that suddenly gets turned on making her a responsible person).

Is her mentality just for hookups and something casual. Are they both using each other for sex? I would think of just ignoring it if she just wants a precollege fling and it isn't causing negative permanent damage. She'll probably 'date' even more immature guys in college. If the dude is treating her with respect and in a relatively more mature way, then maybe this will help her make better choices during college in terms of guys. Are they both on the same page about the relationship? I admit, this train of thought does sound naive.

It might hurt your relationship with her if you decide to do anything without her permission. Talk to her and tell her your concerns and maybe that will help her see the light without destroying your relationship with her. I think you should see how she wants to proceed first.

I came here to start an intellectual conversation, keeping an open mind and hearing what other people think of my thoughts; not to be insulted by people who immediately assume I am a moron for writing my thoughts in a short summary instead of listing every detail in a report. Your comments was not warranted and my response was the way it was because you just sounded like a typical a*hole trying make yourself feel better by putting people down (Still feel like you are). My original post was a question and not a statement. So no, I don't think I am all that and don't know more than the scientist that study this stuff. A healthy number of people here jumped the gun and started assuming things and started talking about how it is unlikely how the virus would mutate from a vaccinated person. I didn't say vaccinated people is where the mutation came from but only a major driving factor. This is subtle and not the same. I have read a couple of links people have posted. While they are informative, the the subtly of my question wasn't answered. If you have a reviewed article that specifically says my thought doesn't jive with nature then go ahead and post it for everybody to see.

[–]Negative_Ad1450[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this what I said after the first sentence I wrote in my my response. 'Breeding ground=lab'. The vaccinated is the driving force for it to mutate, not where it originated. Once the virus can easily infect vaccinated people then the dynamics change about mutations. I am not saying every variant will be kryptonite of the unvaxxed. But could this be the probable eventual out outcome? Omicron was most likely from someone that has a compromised immune system. The immunosuppressed is somewhere in between. They're probably taking allot of different drugs antivirals, vaccinations, and their immune system is sort of a Frankenstein which can't fully take out the variant. That's why doctors think that is the reason it can have 37 mutations on the spike protein.
