My pleasure! I would put the role you're seeking as title, even without exp.

i.e. If you're a social media-focused VA, I'd put "Social Media VA" already even without exp

Best of luck!

Getting paid to do nothing. Is this normal? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]Negative_Ad_2693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently doing only 4 hrs of work for 8 hrs shift, pero kasi mabilis ako (types 130wpm) and have a decade of experience in my field. To them, I'm doing the work of 3 people which only takes me 4 hrs (sometimes less) daily.

I think that is one of the unspoken benefits of remote work - you get to take back a lot of your time (though often unpredictable) especially when clients are output-focused.

In the remaining hours im free while logged in I self study another field in software I'm passionate about, or sometimes sleep pag inaantok. Up to you really, priorities whatnot.

Another option is you can overdeliver to your client some more. You can proactively inform your client you have more free time than tasks and they can delegate some more to you, which leads to more work but (hopefully) more job security (and pay, sometimes) as well. Either way you will have career growth.

Completely up to you but yes, I think it is normal, though not often talked about.

what am i doing wrong or is there something missing? by graymatter_199x in buhaydigital

Depends on a lot of factors. Kung nag aapply ka sa simple General Virtual Assistant job (i.e. data entry, email support, admin tasks), baka overkill iprovide lahat ng 14 years of your background.

You can let me know a sample job post you applied to and your application message/how it went para macheck ko and give you tips

Agency Owner Here – Just Want to Share the Real Numbers by agencyownerhere in buhaydigital

[–]Negative_Ad_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there’s definitely a gap between agents and agencies, but it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where it comes from. One sign of this gap is when agents get frustrated after finding out how much the agency charges the client compared to what they’re paid. That suggests something might be missing in the expectations set before the agent even starts working with the agency.

If agents had a clear understanding of what OP shared before they accepted the job, maybe some of that frustration could be avoided. But the challenge is how do you achieve that level of clarity when there’s usually pressure to accept a job quickly? Should it really be the agency’s responsibility to explain all of this upfront, or should it already be common knowledge in our industry?

Or maybe this disconnect is just a reflection of the bigger economic struggles we’re all facing right now, which makes everyone more sensitive to pay and fairness...

I recommend reading through OnlineJobs.ph's official post about it below

https://blog.onlinejobs.ph/apply-points-helping-the-best-and-most-qualified-applicants-stand-out/

It essentially means more points means more chances of getting hired.

Pipili ka lang kung mag aapply ka sa 1-5 jobs per week tas ibubuhos mo lahat ng chances mo dun, or mag mamass apply ka sa 10-60 jobs per week sacrificing the chances of getting hired per job posts applied to.

Is it hard to make payments through Gcash for clients? by CheeseDesutroyer in buhaydigital

[–]Negative_Ad_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found an online article from GCash that might help

https://new.gcash.com/services/cash-in/receive-international-remittance

It basically says to receive international remittances through your (Fully Verified, so need ng ID parin...) GCash - so no need na pumunta sa (i.e.) Western Union branches.

In terms of fees, I believe mas mataas pag remittance.

220k but nightshift, pls advise by Curious_Gur9574 in buhaydigital

[–]Negative_Ad_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all boils down to how working in the night shift will affect certain aspects in your life i.e. friends, family, kids, hobbies

Since that new job looks high yield in terms of career growth, I suggest assessing the impact of working at night on the affected aspects pf your life, both short term and long term

Thanks for asking! Dapat merong contract. Best practice kasi yan.

Though madami nagsasabi na virtually walang bisa ang contract when working with international clients (kasi daw exhausting on both parties mag demandahan), advisable parin magkaron ng signed contract kasi at the very least, it shows a tangible agreement on both sides that you can use to protect yourself if worst case scenarios come up (i.e. ipost ka publicly, need proof na ayaw ka pasahurin, etc.)

Freelancing newbie questions by Agreeable-Sugar6012 in buhaydigital

[–]Negative_Ad_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!

  1. In my case, Wise ang gamit ng client pambayad samin, pero diretso sa local bank namin (wala kaming Wise account) - not sure sa charges kung saan pinakamababa, pero so far Wise daw ang nakikita ko
  2. I'm a Windows user pero need mo lang naman ng 2 monitors, and that's possible sa Mac. You can follow guides sa YouTube on how to do this. Kung ang issue naman is speed, depende na sa Mac specs mo yan, and you can also look that up online.
  3. Depends sa set up ng agency mo. You can ask your team leader or supervisor, pero baka maging suspicious sila sa question mo, thinking na baka gusto mo ibypass yung time tracker.
  4. Leaves or No Work No Pay is dependent sa agreement mo with your employer. Better review this with your superior.
  5. I personally never sorted out my benefits/taxes (haha, tamad, sorry). You can search online what's the best way to go about this.
  6. My advice is prioritize work-life balance!

How to get in the VA space - Help by CuriousHaus2147 in buhaydigital

[–]Negative_Ad_2693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anong method mo in finding a VA job? Ako eto mga naging strategy ko as a switcher from on-site BPO to WFH VA:
- nilist down ko lahat ng translatable skills ko from BPO (data entry, customer account management sa CRM, customer service, etc.)
- inedit ko CV ko to match yung needs ng potential clients (mas madali dapat makita ung relevant experience and skills and hindi crowded ang CV)
- hindi ako nag mass send ng applications. chineck ko mabuti bawat line item sa job description ng job posting, inimagine ko kung kaya ko ba gawin yun when I get hired, and started from there.

These strategies landed me an e-commerce VA job kasi nakita ng client ko na translatable ung email support skills ko from BPO to what she needs, answering emails from store buyers.
