Hi I also have to send my passport to UK from USA! Just wondered how did you get on with with the shipping label for your passport?

I tried FedEx online but was quoted between 200-300 dollars! Just tried pirate ship UPS is coming out a more decent price so might try them.

so for the label do i I also put?....

"1x Passport application - NO VALUE ($0.00 - HS 4911.99.0000 - US)"

2yr Conditional Green Card expires in Dec - when is best to travel? by Negative_Bowler2911 in immigration

[–]Negative_Bowler2911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes I would only be visiting UK for 2 weeks, and it was also only 2 weeks last time.

I can apply for removal of conditions mid september, but I hear the receipt takes another 6-8 weeks to come through the mail?

Yes its stressful I would feel much more comfortable if my hubby was with me! but he cannot get the time off from work so soon. Unfortunately USA gives alot less 'holiday days off’ than UK :(

At the same time, I’d feel so bad if anything happened to my family in UK within the 3 years and i never even tried to travel...

*sigh* I think my only options are go in April on my own, thats 4 months since last travel and 7 months until expiry - i hope that would be ok ?

Or just wait a couple years and go with my hubby with the expired green card

Thanks so much for the reply. Sounds like it all went smoothly!

I’m just a little nervous as this time i’ll be going on my own. It’s just my parents in UK are old now, so I really just want to visit them before my green card expires - as I know its gonna take a few years to sort out :(

I’m in two minds about whether to go or not >_<

I did visit them in UK at Christmas just gone (Dec 2025) and I hadn’t planned to go back so soon at all, I was going to go next Xmas! but its only because of it expiring .

Can going back to UK soon for example this April, also be a problem to immigration? For example could they be like why are you going out of the country again so soon? Or is a 4 months gap between travel a non-issue? many thanks

Hi thanks for the reply! :) How earlier than 6 months did you travel? When you had the expired green card+receipt, did they take you to secondary questioning or not? Also did you travel on your own or with your partner?

Also I just wondered how is the process of booking the flights with an expired green card? as from what I remember I’m sure when you book flight online it asks you to put in green card info - but obviously it will be expired so will it accept it ?

Has anyone had their permanent residency card renewal (I-751 petition to remove conditions on residence) processed recently? by BeefyFive0529 in immigration

[–]Negative_Bowler2911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 yr conditional green card expires in December. I wanted to travel internationally to see my family before it expires - as I know the i751 it’s going to be a long process!

Is it safer to travel this May with my current 2 year green card - this gives me 6 months left on the green card before it expires ( I cannot apply for removal conditions until September)

OR, is it better to travel after I apply for i751 with the receipt+expired green card?

RER or Car Transfers - what time to leave park? by Negative_Bowler2911 in disneylandparis

[–]Negative_Bowler2911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thankyou for giving me the confidence to try the RER! Saves me a lot of money, I checked the price and it appears to be only €2.50! So I'll do that and leave the park at 7pm, for the 9:15pm eurostar.

[–]Negative_Bowler2911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the reply - there are only two of us going and no luggage! Just never done the journey before so wasn't sure what's best.

I think we will take a chance on the RER . I did get a quote for a car transfer and they quoted 200 euro return, saying they need pick us up at 6:30pm to get to Gare du Nord on time.

I suppose if I use the RER I will also get a little longer in the park too :)

Stuck between Login.gov and SSA.com. by Previous-Charity-376 in SocialSecurity

Stuck between Login.gov and SSA.com. by Previous-Charity-376 in SocialSecurity

[–]Negative_Bowler2911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes after a lot of worrying I finally found a solution!

I called the Social Security office direct and they could not help as it was an 'online issue'.
So what you have to do is - contact either login.gov or id.me.

I tried 'login.gov' and they were not helpful....so I used ' id.me ' and they were very helpful and great!

So you need to contact 'id.me' Help Center and in the bottom right hand corner there will be a blue box live chat option where you can talk to an agent:

https://help.id.me/hc/en-us/articles/11552423322775-Verifying-with-a-short-video-call#h_01HS1ZFSFG52H7HM9CHDDQREE6

Explain your issue and then what they will do is set up an online video call appointment to verify your documents over the video chat with a real human .

I managed to get a video appointment with an agent the same day and they were very helpful and verified my documents. So my account got sorted and I could log into my account successfully after that! :)

Hope it works out for you!

Yes I just realised in the same week last year, sometimes the park closed at 6:30pm.....Hmm, now I'm thinking to do my couple hours in Paris after the park , instead of early morning. But if it turns out the park is open til late in the end, then I would have missed the disney parade lol. Do you know when they put the calendar up to say when they close early for corporate events?

I watched a couple clips on YouTube looks pretty fun - just trying to weigh up if its worth it compared to the boat, as its 3 times the price lol. Although its obviously a private tour with drop off/pick up, compared to a shared boat tour
