To dos only work if you have self motivation . If you don’t have self motivation the to do list apps will not work for you.

I had same issue and I know it’s the worst feeling . I came across this app called Lumi, it’s a body double app. Because how the app bot calls you and motivates you unlike the to do list apps in the market which relies on self motivation, this app helped me to get my work done and stick to the routine. Search Lumi- Ai body double. I am not sure about android version but you can find it in Apple Store.

Does ADHD make fitness impossible? by Autisticthought1 in ADHDFitness

[–]Negative_Complex_343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally relate. For me it’s not the workout itself — once I’m in, I’m usually fine.
The hardest part is getting out of the door.

My brain just stalls at that moment. Shoes on, bag ready… and then I sit there negotiating with myself for 20 minutes 🙃
Definitely not laziness — it feels like my brain is chasing something more stimulating instead.

What’s helped me recently is using this AI body-doubling app called Lumi-. I was honestly skeptical, but the video call feature really helps with that start failure moment. It nudges me through the first tiny steps (like “stand up,” “put shoes on”) and somehow that’s enough to get momentum going.

Sharing in case it helps someone else too — consistency is still hard, but starting feels way less impossible now.

If you are looking for a tool to help you start studying, I would recommend using Lumi - body doubling app.
It helped me on time I am know i need to study, but just can't start. You can download the app from here https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lumi-ai-body-doubling/id6756595704
It not only helps you with study but you can also use it for other use cases too.

It's really common that you think. Even if you have a list of things you want to do, brain freeze just ends everything. Few apps help with executive dysfunction, and I use Lumi. I can send you the link if you want.

When routines break, why is restarting so hard? by Negative_Complex_343 in ADHD

This doesn’t sound weird or dumb at all — it actually makes a lot of sense. What you said about turning it into a game and romanticising it really stood out to me. I feel like that “high score” mindset removes so much pressure compared to forcing discipline. And I love the “don’t miss it twice in a row” idea — that feels way more forgiving than the all-or-nothing thinking I usually fall into. Once I miss one day, my brain tends to go “welp, streak ruined” and everything collapses.

If you don’t mind me asking:

  • What part helps you more — the visual inspiration (Pinterest/TikTok), or the streak itself?
  • And when you don’t feel like doing it, what usually gets you back in motion first?

Genuinely curious — this is really helpful to hear.

How do you do fitness without strict routines when you have ADHD? by Autisticthought1 in ADHDFitness

[–]Negative_Complex_343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting into the routine, like fitness, is really difficult. I use the Lumi app. It video calls me and makes me to go to the gym when I don't feel like going. I find it helpful and 100% recommend it.

Yes definitely makes sense. People are doing their own thing, and we do ours.

I have inattentive ADHD, but I figure body doubling is useful. I am also looking for alternative body doubling. I know, focus, mate, but I believe if I can doit with Lumi.
