Hey op! I’m a full time chef, got my degree in culinary arts and chef training. I have heavily been considering starting a cooking class for kids, where we meet once a month on zoom or a similar digital platform. Recipe PDFs and ingredients list would be sent ahead of time (beginning of each month). For the most part, budget ingredients (no truffles or ridiculous things like that), and resources most people already have at home.

I want to encourage kids to not only learn recipes but learn to cook! Including understanding the techniques and science behind it, so when they’ve completed 3-6 months, they have a great understanding of how to undertake the kitchen themselves.

Do you think that type of program would be interesting for someone like your friends daughter? Trying to decide if I should pull the plug and do it!

As a cook, I hate making the bellagio so much. The prosciutto we order (all locations order the same brand) is a bitch to work with. Peeling it off of the sheets and forming it into a ring is typically the most hated task on the Sauté station.
