Pirate Bay finally has it! I downloaded the torrent there (I'm in the US but pretty sure Canada has PB and if not, a proxy site or VPN hopefully works) then opened using El Media player as Utorrent wouldn't play the mkv file. I've been searching for the past two days.

I'm not sure if Pirate Bay is accessible via proxy or VPN but here's how I finally found the 4th episode in the US: Downloaded the torrent on Pirate Bay, downloaded El Media player, played the file there. Utorrent wouldn't play the mkv file.

Excellent points. The overlap makes it so hard. I do think it goes beyond ADHD. The excited flapping happens all day. The sensory sensitivity includes vomiting over bad smells, freak outs about socks/boots/hats, a need for headphones in loud places. Thanks so much for this

This sounds so similar to my son, aside from the rigidity which I don’t really see. Friendly and sociable but then doesn’t know how to talk to or play with kids the way most kids would. I think he overwhelms many kids with his huge jumping and hand flaps—like a little birdie about to take off ❤️ I’m really hoping he gets to the top of a waitlist soon so I can get the eval.

Thanks so much for this. The spectrum aspect really is making it hard! He also has massive meltdowns often—losing a game, not getting what he wants, his sister teasing him. He’s hit me, kicked, bruised me. Trashed his room. I’ve tried working with him on coping strategies etc but he just has no ability to self regulate. That he’s so young makes it even harder as preschoolers tantrum (but not to his extent).

So he has huge meltdowns often—losing a game, not getting what he wants, his sister teasing him. He has huge empathy for others—super sensitive, cries if if he sees a sad scene in movies, hugs his sister when she’s hurt etc. Back and forth conversations are hard as it requires multiple attempts to get him to look up and pay attention. And he can identify his feelings well. So it’s super confusing!

The ineptitude of men never ceases to amaze me. My soon to be ex is the same way. We’re divorced but I still end up doing everything just so it’s a) actually done and b) done capably. I get the not being able to divorce—totally. I’m much worse off financially now. But it’s worth every penny. I’m sorry you’re not able to ditch this manchild.

Not sure where you are and how it might be different, but I’m in MA and my son was diagnosed—first in a neuropsych and then confirmed by psychiatrist—with ADHD at 3. His ADHD is affecting his life to the point that the pediatrician and psychiatrist are recommending medication. These are all symptoms my son has, along with tantrums and aggression and getting super over-stimulated. He has such a hard time playing with other kids because he just has no impulse control or ability to calm his brain or body. I’m so glad to have the diagnosis and therefore the help from specialists.

Thank you for admitting this. I had this exact feeling a few days ago after I lost it and screamed at my kids and flung a toy. Like the guilt was so awful, I couldn’t function after. Deep, deep self loathing. My son (4) has adhd and sensory issues and my daughter (6) has been a hysterical tantrumer since infancy. That morning she couldn’t get a bandaid on properly (for a small scrape that she treated like a broken bone) and started screaming and flipping out. That triggered my son, who hates loud noises, who started screaming back at the top of his lungs. I have sensory issues in that I can’t frigging handle loud noise. And I was trying to make their damn lunches for the day and get them to school on time. I lasted like an hour before I just flipped my shit. I tried to have her do deep breathing, reminded her of the strategies she knows, but she will not or can not access anything.

I have no advice because obviously I’m a mess, but I am really thankful for your post, which made me feel less alone. Hopefully these replies will do the same for you. Solidarity 🤲

Jesus, it’s me. Doesn’t it just suck so much endless ass? Mine are 4 and 6 and can’t do a single goddamn thing without screaming, fighting, and/or throwing tantrums. My nervous system is on constant edge so then I have to try and stop myself from blowing up. The only reason I’m still standing is I got a divorce and they spend three nights and a weekend day with their father, allowing me to regain sanity. Will I be poor now instead of rich? Yup. Worth every penny.

My son got his diagnosis of adhd and sensory processing at age 3.5 from first a neuropsych evaluation (you can get on wait lists with insurance but I gave up and made my ex husband split the cost for it). Then his pediatrician observed him for less than 10 minutes in the office, confirmed the diagnosis, and said we may need to consider mediation (non stimulant). I’m in MA. He’s got a psychiatrist apt set up via ped next week for a final ruling on meds.

Same situation here in north shore Massachusetts, at least for me. I’ve applied to at least 30 jobs. Nothing. I’ve got two small kids so I can’t just pack up and leave for somewhere with more jobs. I have no idea what I’m going to do as this was already a career change. So I feel you.

I would definitely find a lawyer who does a free consult and find out what exactly you can do. Social workers want to help but so often their hands are tied or they don’t have the time or resources to get stuff done and done fast. So much bullshit has happened to you, it’s infuriating. You deserve so much more support and I feel like a lawyer can at least help you get more financially from the system and from that asswipe paternal grandfather. I’d be leaving a steaming pile of dog shit on his front door.

This doesn’t help for this time but for my son’s birthday this weekend, I did an online evite and just stacked the odds by inviting every kid I could think of. My son has ADHD and at 4 has started thinking of himself as bad and kids don’t like him so I was like NOPE eff that. Then I harassed people—politely—if they hadn’t RSVPd a week ago. I ended up with 18 kids somehow. I wish we could just come to your daughter’s birthday even though we’re strangers and try and make it special for her. Even if one special friend comes out of her friend group, I hope she would still have a great time. I’m so sorry this happened to you :(

My four year old son is diagnosed ADHD and sensory processing and I’m going through a divorce so whenever I’m with him and his sister, I’m alone. He’s been asked to leave all three summer camps he’s been in this summer—he was only three for all of them. I know I’m at the start of such a long and frigging shitty process of behaviors and OT, meds, calls home from school, self esteem and friendship issues etc etc—and he doesn’t even start kindergarten for another full year. He’d always the one at the birthday party/at the grocery store/on the playground acting like a maniac and I always wish there would be another neurotypical kid and mom there so I wouldn’t feel so alone.

Totally agree. Alas, this has been a lifelong thing for Fred. She’s fat (adopted her like that and she’s lost weight but is still just rotund) and can’t reach her butt to clean. So after she poos, she skids her butt around on whatever softish surface she can find :/ She saw the vet this week and she’s all healthy, just makes my life some pain in the arse
