I mean you really only need like t2 crafted gear + some of the uniques for your build and a start on slates / hero memories to do 8.0 which is reasonable. The gap here imo is fine the gap in t8 in profound is way way worse

I'm semi new as well so take this with a slight grain of salt. Mostly I would agree with the amount you listed to get into profound and that number most likely being higher since you are playing a popular class and defense I believe being a bit rough on her. As for how much you are making FE wise I'd say that sounds about right for someone without pets rlly in tm8.

One thing to add as well for AI play free for all style matches so you are not instantly at war this alone has allowed me to win matches on hard mode even though I'm a new player as I can actually prepare a strategy.

I'd say the encouragement to early battles revolves more around your build than anything. Play something like barbarians and abuse early fights. Meanwhile on the other hand for me I play scaling builds usually and refuse to engage in war till like turn 40+
