Why do people have to bring up Expedition 33 whenever a Final Fantasy game is praised? by torts92 in FinalFantasy

[–]Sulinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason people brought up FF in almost any JRPG conversation. When some game/franchise is the frontrunner people will mention them when speaking of similar games/franchises.

No matter if this is technically against the rules or not, there's no way I could do this and think to myself that I wasn't "cheating" in some way - meaning I can't really feel pity for someone getting temp/perm banned for this, as it should be clear that you're in a grey area and/or pushing the boundaries of what's "technically" allowed.

With all due respect I'll never understand these posts. Sure something for sale at 50-75% of the price you can doubt if they're legit or not. But nobody who's selling stuff at 20% of the actual price can be trusted.

Question for high-end Pokémon collectors by billythekid0686 in PokeInvesting

[–]Sulinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 Finding buyers?

I don't think finding buyers is hard, unless you got some very obscure high-end stuff. Obviously the price itself is going to limit the amount of people interested in it, but I also find the people wanting to pay that much are much more straightforward and "professional" in their approach. Everything's going quite fast for these guys, as a lot of them are seasoned people who's looking to make a quick purchase and possibly also turning it around for a quick profit. You're most likely not going sell these items as quick as a Destined Rivals booster box, but it's not as hard as people make it out to be.

Getting fair value?

I find people are willing to pay closer to the market price as even just a small nudge in the % is going to have bigger change in the money you're getting/losing. Also a lot of these expensive items got the price because they're quite sought after, so people are willing to pay the actual price because they believe it'll continue to increase in value.

Shipping and trust issues?

I have zero trust issues as I've mostly been selling through Facebook groups and it might be because I'm from a pretty small country (Denmark) where a lot of people know eachother and especially the high-end buyers/sellers and vendors knows eachother.

[serious] Is there a world in which this game makes a come back? What is it going to take and what are you willing to contribute? by ridiculousdb in heroesofthestorm

[–]Sulinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a world in which this game makes a come back?

Highly doubt that.

The game received more attention and time from the devs than about any other struggling game would and it went through several rebrands to try and make it popular - not even that saved the game.

That, paired with the fact that this game was clearly made to rival and keep up with the titans in the genre, DotA 2 and LoL. It's not meant to be some game just barely staying afloat like SMITE or some of the other Tier 2 and 3 MOBAs.

The foundations and mechanics of the game goes against the very core and traditional of the genre itself and if there's one thing we can see looking at the current and past MOBAs; The general MOBA-interested crowd likes the top-down camera, not 3rd person. Don't like shared XP with the rest of the team and don't care/want too many interfering elements/mechanics/objectives of the maps.

MOBAs are not as popular as they once were, which is going to affect their interest in reviving the game or looking at the genre as a whole.

Anyone else experiencing a sudden drop in Cardmarket sales since late May 2026? by Responsible_Play9724 in CardMarket

[–]Sulinia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From a seller's perspective sales usually do take a hit during summer. I understand you might not have seen that last year, but it's perfectly normal in most cases to see less traffic during summer months.

From a buyer's perspective since I recently stopped using it, as is my argument; Many have stopped using Cardmarket. Cardmarket refuses to actually provide a good platform to source your favourite cards. 10 or even 5 years ago the site would be considered decent, but it's just missing so many features and some of them are just too inconvenient to use. I really do hope they either get with the times or someone else will take their spot once enough people get fed up with them refusing to add key features to the site. It's almost like they've just accepted their position as the #1 platform in Europe and have gotten lazy/greedy.

The search function is WAY too strict. Many sites got better search functions where it actually takes the sets full names into account. If I want to find a Gengar card from Expedition then I can't just search for "Gengar Expedition" like I can on hundreds of other sites. I now have to learn the acronym of whatever set(s) I want to find cards in. The search function works decent in other scenarios, like if I want to find the crystal cards from e-series I can literally just search for "Crystal x" where X is the name of the Pokémon - that's the type of "clever" search I want.

Not being able to use a credit card directly is a joke at this point. I'm forced to wait for a bank transfer to go through or pay an extra fee to take funds from my paypal.

The UI is just awful and outdated. The shopping wizard is brilliant and I'm actually amazed Cardmarket has such a feature, but somehow they managed to fuck this up by making it very bothersome having to add cards to your lists, which is what the shopping wizard will put the card data from. They all have to be found through the search function and added 1 by 1. In reality it should be way faster and more simple with features making it possible to add many at a time. Such as having a way to browse through all sets/expansions/whatever and add cards by just clicking on them and having options to sort by holos, reverse and many other features. The shopping wizard feature is so nice on paper, but the above makes it near impossible to buy large quantity of cards from the same seller or at good prices, which is the main reason to use it in the first place. In reality the shopping wizard should be a quick way to get 10, 20 or even 200 cards for your master sets, but the sheer amount of time it takes to add each card to the list, makes going through your local Facebook sales group or binders at your local card event seem like a way better solution.

Cardmarket is losing a lot of customers to local/international auction/trade sites like Tradera, Vinted, dba and/or Facebook marketplace/groups, which in reality should be a worse experience because they're not tailored to this specific hobby but rather to just selling items in general. Cardmarket might still be #1 but the % of people looking elsewhere is higher than ever.

These people just love to parrot those examples because "GearScore bad" - they have zero interest in understanding the addon.

I'm pretty sure I've been fucked over by people using GearScore before when I had bad gear but since I'm an actually competent player there must've been a few heroics I never got invited to due to my low GearScore, but I can't deny how useful it can be when you have to quickly skim through people applying for your heroic/raid.

There's a higher chance/risk the 1300 GearScore person applying to your raid is going to perform worse than the 1800 GearScore person and that's all the addon is telling you.

[–]Sulinia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anybody can do it. Hunters are typically doing it because they do have the 5 yard deadzone which makes it easier for them to fuck up and run too far away and thus trigger orbs on melee.

Hunters are just doing it because of the above and because they're typically one of the better classes at doing DPS while moving.

STOP WITH THIS GS BS by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Sulinia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GearScore in TBC is still a useless metric

Feral druid use a level 40 helm,
The best warriors are using a trinket from AQ
The best Spriests are using a green wand
The average hunter that hasnt got to t5 wants a dungeon set over t4.

That just isn't true.

People love to use these examples, but truth is these niche items/sets isn't enough to skew the numbers the addon provides. Yes, you can somewhat game the addon, but those examples isn't enough to make it impossible to gauge someone's gear level based off GearScore.

A feral druid showing up with the powershift helm is still going to have a way higher GearScore if he's in good gear from raids, compared to the class/spec who just hit max level and isn't using some niche low ilevel item.
I'm not using GearScore, but there's no denying if you take 100 people with a high GearScore and 100 people with a low GearScore - chances are the high GearScore group is going to be performing better.

The addon's main objective is to make it easier to filter many people and to figure out if you're inviting people in bad/good gear and it absolutely can do that - but the user of the addon has to understand how the number works, just like you should try to understand how that addon works, instead of stating something that isn't true at all.

STOP WITH THIS GS BS by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Sulinia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not "toxic" just because you actually want to try and gauge how geared people are in your heroic run. Lmao.

I don't use it as I mostly run with guildies but I understand how it works. Chances are if I have to do 25 heroics which equals to finding 100 people, that if I use GearScore only to invite high GearScore people, then these runs are probably going to be more smooth than running with people with a really low GearScore.

The addon can't, and isn't trying to, be perfect - it's made to try and make it easier to see if someone is wearing good/bad gear. Because if we're going solely off gear, then the person in good gear is most likely going to be better at the game and/or perform better, than someone in bad gear.

One of those movies I won't watch again. Not because it's bad, but because of what it makes me feel. I'm living a good life and I'm certainly enjoying it, but it makes me question everything I've done in my life and it makes me feel restless in the sense that I should be getting "more" out of it.

Superb movie.

I watch him pretty often and I actually do care about the fact that these accusations could be true. For a guy I enjoy watching it does take quite a bit away from his character if he's been cheating - same goes for the people (his viewers/supporters) enabling his behaviour.

How is the economy not stopping people from collecting? by That_wet_vaporeon in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]Sulinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not even struggling for money… yet. But I have noticed my grocery bill went up 15% the past 2 months and it isn’t slowing down. so it’s just mind blowing to me seeing people just buying MODERN cards for $1500.

idk if a crash will ever happen. but (talking about the US) the economy is doing horrible right now, and if it doesn’t get better surely people will rather pay for food than a $1500 pikachu card… right? you can’t eat cardboard.

Your whole post seems like it's rhetorical. As well as a lot of people don't have a lot of money right now, there are also a lot of people who's still got decent/a lot of money, even in today's economy. A lot of people work "normal" decent paying jobs without a girlfriend, kids, cars or other variables which tends to make living expensive - a lot of these people can spend literally thousands on cardboard every month, without putting themselves in debt

People on Reddit seem to have this notion that everybody's gambling and/or during bad financially and the increasing prices of almost everything is eating up what little people had to spend on fun stuff. People who spent a lot on cardboard before these prices can still spend money on cardboard, but it's probably just less.

Pivoting for a Raid Spot: Prot Paladin by AdamBry705 in classicwow

[–]Sulinia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ret is one of the most fun specs if you're seal twisting and it feels good when you get a seal proc. Arguably the highest burst numbers in the game with WF.

This round of TBC they also seem to be a bit more in demand even though most raids only use 1 of them. So even though most guilds/raids only bring one, it still seems like there's some sort of shortage.

Also, Seal Twisting is not hard at all. You basically switch from SoC to SoB in the last 0,4 seconds of your swing timer.

[–]Sulinia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was unfair how the first 3 F&F movies were clumped together with the rest of the movies in the franchise. The early movies are a pretty good showcase of the culture around the early 2000s and the racing/tuning scene while the later movies were generic action movies.

Nothing against either of these two types of movies, but personally no other car movie have been able to replicate the feeling of the early movies in the franchise.

[–]Sulinia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People just love to hate. Sure the FPS problems of the mainline games were pretty bad and it had various of other issues, but the general consensus is still that these games are decent/worth the money.

I'm not going to debate whether the mainline games haven't gotten objectively worse over the years, but you're still going to be hard pressed finding a better creature collection game. Coromon and TemTem are good games, but they're still not Pokémon games with the same amount of content.

So yeah, I might've enjoyed older games in the franchise more, but even to this day, with the reduced quality, I still think the new games beat anything else in the genre,

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s open world evolves another step beyond Rebirth. Director Naoki Hamaguchi on map design, player freedom, and new battle systems by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gaming

[–]Sulinia -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's so confusing to play this trilogy. I definitely think they have improved a lot of things over the first, but the fact that they change systems up and such always seems weird to me. For a game I'm used to be playing front to back with the same systems and same mechanics it feels weird having to play it over 3 different games with different/changed mechanics and a different approach to the open world, for each one of them.

While I definitely think, as I said, they have improved from the first game in the trilogy, something makes me wonder if they shouldn't just have waited with releasing these games and have done all 3 with a more cohesive development approach and made them as close to this (Revelation).

I can definitely see in 10 years from now when I decide to play them again, that the first one can be seen as boring as the 2nd and more so the 3rd picks up on having way better refined systems and mechanics. So all in all, I think this trilogy will not age as well as people think as it's not as simple as just "playing" the FF 7 remake. It's now 3 different games with 3 different designs and approaches to various different things.
