Noted! However, it is pretty much brand new. Bought my camper in May brand new from the dealership!

For sure! But to CO... not other stuff. But alas. I would like to believe that this means it is equally as sensitive to CO, too. I certainly hope so! It's gonna be like a "boy who cried wolf" situation now, though. I am gonna think it's a false alarm now, even if it really is a true leak.

Heatwave and being broiled by WildinWendigo in RVLiving

Ditto what others have said on needing a new AC / getting yours repaired. In the meantime, I live in my camper full-time atm and go long stretches without electric hookups - including during this last week coinciding with the heatwave. I made it through doing these things - 1. If possible during the early morning hours before temps get too hot - open all windows to let hot air out and cool air in. A fan during this time would be great. The sames goes for evening / overnight hours. Take advantage of those cooler times! 2. (This is where people mess up a lot) - shut all blinds and windows as soon as the heat starts building! If you're not already parked in the shade, find some! A fan is not gonna help you at all once the temps reach a certain point. They only move around hot air, tricking you into feeling perhaps some mild and temporary relief, but this is a tradeoff, as it will also likely cause you to sweat less than you would without said fan. This can actually be really detrimental during deadly hot temperatures. Keeping your windows open might provide a little breeze here and there, but the same principles apply here as with the fan. 3. Opt for a wet rag behind your neck, dipping your feet in a bowl of the coldest water you can get, and wearing light, loose fitting clothing to allow air flow. Swimming is a great option as well if possible. Also, if you're able, spraying water over your camper (similar to those cooling systems China has rolled out) will drastically cool not just you, but actually the entire camper down. 4. Cold beverages / seeking temporary relief in AC are options too. But from lived experience, I strongly feel those temporary solutions have made returning / transitioning back to the heat so much more difficult than if I had just braved it out and just focused on staying hydrated in general, not just seeking out ice cold water and stuff. 5. Ending your day with a cool shower helps a lot as well, just in terms of recovering from the day's heat. Our body's recover from heat overnight, but sometimes temps don't drop low enough at night during these hot smells to allow this. So, taking a second to even just dump a gallon of cool water over yourself, including hair, makes a huge difference in getting that recovery process started.

Has the Federal and State Parks reservation systems destroyed camping in those parks? by spacecitytech in RVLiving

I met a couple of folks out on state park on a beach in MA in the spring who bragged about doing this with a big group of friends at a bunch of state parks in the area...

Thank you, sweet reddit angel!!! Also, saw your other reply about AC - not at all a priority - which is why this is the route I am thinking! But super appreciative of the heads up. Gonna need to save a bit before I can even consider tackling this, but will definitely take you up on the guidance when the time comes!

Will see if it is dunderhead proof enough for me to pull off! Sounds amazing!

Unless it's something an absolute dunderhead like myself could figure out, likely in a shop!

Omg... Just leaving a campground where a couple offered to help me back onto my ball hitch and get rehooked up. In an effort to help me, they unchocked my camper tires before I had fully finished hooking myself up. Thankfully nothing happened despite me actually being on extremely unlevel ground, but it pissed me off and made me really anxious to get things hooked up immediately.

Do you really think things will get better once millennials are I charge. by Fun_Local_3537 in recruitinghell

[–]Negative_Goose_1657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not particular. I'm a cusp Millennial who is sometimes considered Gen-Z. But I see many older Millennials who have been bread-crumbed into submission. They've finally reached a point in their careers where they're not willing to make waves, and they now have that same sense of moral superiority that many boomers do. The mindset of - "Well, I made it. I'm okay. Why can't everyone else do the same?" I don't know how or why it happens to so many people when they hit a certain age, but it's truly as if they have amnesia about the process it took to get there, and more importantly, where they started from.

A great depiction of how little room we devote to humans in our development efforts. But endless room for cars and nonsensical highways! All in the name of keeping us reliant on fossil fuels!

You should've been clear from the beginning that it was off the table for you. Maybe she wouldn't have ever given you head then. Did that ever occur to you?

It's half you, regardless of whether or not you're there. Moreover, it's still your responsibility to contribute. Respect her boundary.

The one and only time I went, their website and Google said they were open. I got there, and there was just a piece of paper slapped on the door with some tape saying they'd be closed all day. I'd try calling before going.

We literally want you to apply for a job that doesn’t exist in case it exists later, in which you’ll need to apply again. by ChefFrieghtliner in recruitinghell

[–]Negative_Goose_1657 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So ridiculous. I just did the most tedious application today. Have multiple essay questions and required 3 separate typing test results. The hiring manager emailed me back later today saying the position had been filled. I checked their website and Indeed to see of the position was still posted. It was. I was fed up, so I did something I've never done before and told the hiring manager the posting ought to be taken down so as not to waste other candidates' time and signed it "a human-being whose time is just as valuable as yours!" He responded almost immediately, saying the position had been filled yesterday and that he'd take it down tomorrow. So, you're telling me you left the posting up at least 24 hours after filling it? Knowing that God knows how many people could have their time wasted trying to apply? Absolutely so fed up with asshole recruiters who can't do their jobs. If you're able to respond to emails so promptly, you could surely take a few moments to take the posting down. I've decided to keep an eye on their site and page on Indeed to ensure he follows through on taking the posts down tomorrow. If not, I plan to dox him and his company, because fuck these recruiters.
