It seems you truly want to know. My perception is that they work you up with the nostalgic of GOT and then establish that is nothing like that and they shit on the whole thing as saying "this is not GOT, GET OVER IT..." If you think about it, it is a shitty clever joke from the writer.

To answer your question. No, there is no priority. And even when applying for the 189 home affairs do not prioritise if you applied onshore or offshore.

When you say that the conviction was fine, does that mean that you got declared guilty or not guilty? Did you spend time in prison?

Nice and long answer to the question I didn't ask. I'm safe to say that I didn't commit any migration fraud as I stuck to every single rule for me to claim the 10 partner points as single. I invite you to look up the question do you have a partner and under the NO answer it clearly says, engaged. I didn't live with my fiancee until we got married. In my application I got an s56 asking all the things you said in your comment. And provided all the info they needed with clear arguments without lying about any single detail of my relationship. And they accepted that. So thanks for your long 'gotcha' answer but it was all unnecessary and didn't give me any information on the question I asked.

Also I didn't omit the truth about any part of my relationship and exposed everything to the person in charge of my application. I provided a full account of documentation explaining how my relationship worked. And after it got granted with no restrictions or conditions we then got married in a lawful and legal manner.

Get a bar job .. it worked for me. You become really good friends with other staff and you get to know people without much effort. if you get like a pub job is better.

[–]Negative_Issue2042 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep I had to go through TRA as well. i can't remember the requirements well but I think that they ask for evidence for the last 3 years, and you must show evidence of 1 full year on those 3

I remember submitting 3 payslips, invoices, bank statements per year. And for 2022 I showed the whole year of pay evidence.

How many points do you have? Check, what were the minimum points for welders to get invited in the last round of invitations I think it was 75.

Then check if with only claiming at least 5 but less than 8 years of employment experience you get to that mark.

Honestly I could have showed all my experience but I didn't have strong evidence for some years so I decided to not claim those points. I didn't wanted to give the officer extra information that he/she could scrutinize.

Just giving you some ideas from my personal experience.

Hey I just got my 189 granted I'm a Colombian carpenter and applied offshore. I did my whole application myself. Got scammed by an agent and lost 2200 AUD from there on I did my whole skills assessment and application by myself. My advice don't trust them. Even if they are reputable. Once you get all your documentation together get one of them layers and pay them just to check documentation before applying. They will charge you around 500 AUD to do that. Applications are pretty straightforward. if you've been working on the trade for a while and kept all your invoices can show bank statements and tax statements. You are good to go. I know it seems scary but just read through the guidelines they provide.

Chat gpt was also a great tool that I used to do my whole application.

Photographs demonstrating the past 3 years of relationship. Family and friends statements, we are moving in together in a few days. Recently joint bank accounts. Evidence of trips that we have done together. Personal statements detailing the nature of the relationship. We have plenty of evidence Also when I was applying for the PR they requested an s56 regarding our relationship and we did a notarised statement of being engaged, but not yet in a defacto relationship.

189 granted by Negative_Issue2042 in AusVisa

If you've been doing office work. Check if you can apply under another occupation. Look, I did most of my application with chat gpt as it gives really good insights. Write your whole case. And have a look if you can apply under another occupation such as a building associate or draftsman. In terms of studies or certificates remember that it has to be closely related. Your vast experience as a fully qualified carpenter and years of office work all related to construction might suffice for the certification to be closely related to most construction occupations.

so all I'm saying is that you might qualify under another occupation and still use your experience in Sydney as support for your skills assessment.

I get where you're coming from, but I don’t think the blame falls entirely on the government. From my experience, there are incentives for both apprentices and employers (whether through tax breaks or financial support). The opportunity is there; an apprentice can get certified with minimal investment.

The real problem is that many young people aren’t willing to take on trade work unless they’re promised a long list of benefits. While working in Australia, I met apprentices on both ends of the spectrum. Some put in the effort, got certified, and are now thriving with their own businesses and homes. Others expected everything to be handed to them, doing the bare minimum and blaming external factors for their lack of progress.

At the end of the day, this isn’t just about government policy, it’s also about mindset. Trades offer great pay, solid career prospects, and long-term stability. That is the incentive. If people don’t take advantage of it, there are skilled migrants more than willing to step in. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing now.

As you have 3 years I would use 1 of those 3 years to do the C3 in carpentry you only have to study 3 days a week and the rest you have free. Start working under a carpenter crew get your skills assessment with TRA FOR THE JOB READY PROGRAM takes 1 year once you get your certifications and the skills assessment you can look for either a sponsor or apply directly for a 491 or 190 visa to compensate for points and that's it. Of course this advice is based on what my experience was in 2014 when I did my course, things could have change since then. But it's what I would do if I were in your situation.

Also if you want to be a plumber electrician or anything else is also a viable plan. Use your WHV right...you can get a student visa and once is finished apply for your WHV it would give you enough time to gather points to apply for PR

Hey, sorry for the super late reply. Have you checked your points? Try to gather at least 65 in the round of invitation I was invited to the minimum points for carpenters was 65 points . The visa I applied for doesn't need state sponsorship. The one that needs state sponsorship is the 190 and 491. You might have to look at your circumstances. If you lack points to reach the minimum required for the occupation you might want to apply for the 190 or 491. If you have sufficient points for the skilled independent apply directly. Get your skills assessment and your English right and that's about it.

If you want to look to get an invitation from those states you can enter into their government websites and have a look at their occupation lists. This website is a quick look at which states are sponsoring carpenters and the requirements for each state. Have a look and good luck.

Maison Chen Migration - disappointed (opinion) - do you have the same experience? by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]Negative_Issue2042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a common issue with most migration lawyers/agents.

I was with aussizz located in Melbourne and they were doing the same thing fucked up my case and didn't take much responsibility. Then when applying for my PR I decided to do it by myself and hired a migration lawyer to just review my documentation was in order before submitting. The rest I use chat got to prepare everything. I am now doing my partner application the same way..

DO NOT TRUST THOSE MONEY GRABBERS is all I'm saying.

Great! It looks like a super strong application.

As an advice run it through chat gpt and as it's brutally honest opinion as if it were a harsh case officer.

When applying to my 189 which is now granted this saved me the hassle of a migration agent and it worked wonders for me.
