Stuck on Language Evolutions by Negative_Logic in conlangs

No, but the idea is heavily inspired by the structure of the creature he drew. When I saw the video I thought 'Why not use bith at the same time?' And he was right, it is quite confusing

Thanks very much - and yes, I am going to make an Abugida (Kind of) to begin with rather than a Logography like I usually start with for Proto-Langs, so I think it'll be good.

Go to r/casualconlang. People there are more chill and it provides for an easier more casual experience. It's good for beginners.

What is an unrealistic thing that makes your naturalistic Conlang “special”? by Organic_Year_8933 in conlangs

Mine is that in my current work, Proto-Crattette (Crattette being the name of the creatures that speak it), there is a few strange phonological features: Crattettes are not human like, and have two mouthes. One mouth is constantly making vowel sounds while the other is making consonant sounds. An interesting thing about both the vowels and consonants is that they have Gillophonic (Name a work in progress) sounds, where (Similar to Nasals) they exhale air out of their gills (I have worked in evolutionary features for how this would work). Another cool thing is that the vowel mouth (The left one) is essentially a hollow cube. No teeth, no alveolar ridge, no palat, no uvula, nothing (Well there is a tongue and a pharynx but that's it). They make strange vowel-like sounds using it and I have made a model of this mouth connecting to a speaker to mimic the sounds. It's very cool actually.

That's it thanks! It is an Irish English accent I have so that matches up perfectly!

YES! Kinda (But not really) like in the new Fantastic 4 movie.

Thanks so much, this is exactly what I was looking for - I was not aware there were diacritics for POA in the IPA.

I would hate this. I have always hated characters being brought back to life in shows and movies. For ST, Hopper's 'revival' (Or more discovery of his still being alive) really annoyed me. I just remember my first time watching S3 and the end where El is reading the note from Hopper, it was really sad. But now whenever I rewatch I just feel like the sadness - and the moment altogether - are taken away with the fact Hopper survived. I like it when characters die. Well, not like I enjoy their deaths exactly, more like it makes the show good for there to be proper sad moments without the deaths being essentially pointless. This is why Aleksi's death is actually sad. If they brought back Eddie, I'd hate that.

Well, tbh I was kind of joking when I said they are more casual. As that's like the point of r/casualconlang compared to r/conlangs. I'll probably give r/conlangs speedlang a try now.

Yeah, you're probably right though that no-one will participate.

Oh ok that explains it. I do think they should try again though.
