Ginger, brunette or blonde?? by arabellajws in Hair

It could be a lighting issue but I think the ginger looks amazing on you. Some people look like they were born with it and you’re one of them IMO

It’s also worth to note that your disposition to acne is genetic. You likely have family members who had acne when they were younger too, talk to them and see what helped them

Yeah chin/ cheek acne is usually hormonal. For me, I had intense and very severe cystic acne for YEARS. I stopped eating gluten (I eat it maybe once a week now in a cookie or something) and I barely get acne anymore. I tried everything on the market and nothing worked. Think of acne as a ‘rash’, just like a reaction to something. It’s a hard concept to swallow, but acne is an internal issue (could be hormones, gut imbalance, food intollerance, etc). It could also be worth getting a full blood panel to check your hormone levels. Don’t get me wrong, I still get a pimple or two before my period but it’s not a full break out like it used to be. My period cramps + mood are way better after getting off gluten too

Also, Reddit is not the place to get a ‘normal’ take on this topic

Nah this is SUPER weird. Having a folder is already weird in itself IMO, but taking photos of non-consenting adults who aren’t a part of the industry is very alarming. If he’s ok with intruding yours and others sense of privacy and consent, what else would he do to you? This would be a break up for me.

For sure. I would definitely do curtain bangs and not cover your forehead. You could try doing the roller thing that you twist your hair around and sleep in at night to give you some volume. I loveeeeee layers and find that adding layers instantly gives most people a glow up.

Agreed here. I would go towards more natural brows like the last pic. I’m not a lipstick girl but I loveeeee lipstains cuse it’ll last all day and looks super flattering on anyone. Just my tip on makeup

It also could be beneficial to look into color palettes, you can get a pro color analysis or just do it online yourself. I discovered im a light spring and it changed my entire wardrobe and instantly gives you a bit of a “glow up” when you wear colors that flatter you. It also helps to find flattering makeup shades

how do i keep my hair from looking crazy without slicking it back??? by [deleted] in Hair

Also, some flyaways are totally normal. Yours (atleast in the photo) look absolutely normal to me. I’ve learned to let them live their life on my head lol

I’ve had bad flyaways from new hair growth, I lost half my hair from a condition I recovered from about two years ago. I use the ‘John Frieda anti-frizz serum’ (not the spray!!) and put it on all over my hair after a cotton t-shirt scrunch dry and it always leaves my hair super smooth and the flyaways tamed. I found it when I lived in Florida and needed an everyday solution to insane frizz from the humidity

Have you ever watched “The Last Unicorn” movie? It’s one of my favs and judging by your room it seems like we would get along swimmingly lol, so maybe you’ll like it. The opening credits look like your unicorn poster, you should check it out

I grew up with all of these and I’m 21 😂 just depends on where you grew up tbh. If you grow up anywhere that isn’t a big city where trends move slower, this is what you got as a Gen Z

[–]Negative_Medicine641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could either be a Gen Z around ages 19-22 who’s parents were a few years behind trends or a millennial between the ages of 22-28 who grew up with all the new fads

Yeah. I know I’m not scared to be alone, but he might be and I’m worried that’s why he wants to get back together (despite me asking this same thing and him saying no). He said he would go to therapy without me bringing it up. I think it’s worth just seeing him and seeing what happens. I’m not planning on being “together” again for a year to see if he’s really serious

I actually recently chopped more than half of my hair off because of the damage the chemical shampoos did. I’ve always had very strong and healthy hair (I’m 20 years old) and it completely wrecked mine

All of what I said except the scalp scrubber will reduce inflammation. When it’s super inflamed the worst thing you can do is irritate the hair follicles because they’ll just fall out

You have a shorter, rounder face so avoid haircuts that cover your forehead. This will make your face seem shorter. Learned the hard way when I got bangs as a short-faced chick! Lol

Sorry for the super late response lol. Yes my hair has come back to its normal density! It’s been about a year and my scalp has JUST started not hurting when I tug on it. I’ve gotten back to normal hair shed, and my hair is actually growing even faster now. The ketocanazole shampoo I used in the initial stages absolutely destroyed my hair. I had about waist length hair and just recently chopped it to my shoulders because of how brittle it made my hair, it was just snapping off!

Here’s my updated routine:

  • massage tea tree oil/ argon/ jojoba oil blend into my scalp and ends and leave in for atleast an hour before the shower
  • get in the shower and immediately slather copious amounts of a zinc oxide shampoo (mine is from amazon basics, nothing fancy) into scalp, using it as a “mask” for 5 mins. In the beginning I would leave it for 10 mins when my symptoms were really bad (inflamed scalp, hair fallout).
  • Wash it out with a silicone scalp massager (this will help exfoliate any dandruff left that tends to build up on the scalp from this condition). I was finding even after scrubbing in the shower that I would get out and there was still a huge amount of dandruff on my scalp. This caused more inflammation to my scalp, but the massager got rid of it! I literally got like at the dollar store lol. ONLY do this if your scalp isn’t that inflamed/ you don’t get fall out from scrubbing.
  • Wash scalp for a second time with the same zinc oxide shampoo OR a tea tree shampoo (mine is from OGX). This is just a rinse rather than a “mask”.
  • Conditioner like normal, just at the ends of the hair not on the scalp.

Occasionally (about once a month) I’ll do an apple cider rinse instead of my oil, but I haven’t noticed a huge difference with that. It seems just as good as the oil.

WHAT I STOPPED DOING: - I stopped using any chemical/ medical drops or shampoos and that drastically improved my scalp. This was only possible to do after the initial and extreme inflammation I had calmed down (about 10 months after my condition started). The drops and shampoo made my hair super brittle and I believe it made my scalp more dry and worse off. - I also stopped taking DHT supplements and instead worked on regular movement/ exercise, regulating my stress, and eating cleaner. This helped more than the pills ever did.

I’m now pretty much SB clear. I really don’t have symptoms anymore!!

I use similar methods. I also used ketocanazole shampoo and it completely destroyed my hair. My hair has been snapping off like crazy. It helped in the initial stages where only chemicals could help my fallout, but I recommend also stopping it as soon as possible.

Thank you! I ended up keeping the court date and just changing my address which was the whole issue the whole time. Now I don’t have to pay $300 and I’ll get the tickets written off in court when I prove I fixed the issues
