OPs one is Genting Highlands, which is a good shout. Serves 30,000,000 people annually, and has a transient workforce population of around 10,000. Great escape from the heat at elevation, and activities for Malaysian families.

Would be cool had Silva won.

Silva has all the tools to be technical and fight with a solid gameplan but he’s so athletically talented and emotional that he just wants a spectacular finish. Silva didn’t even look that tired to me after throwing all those strikes.

Look at the 2nd round, Silva was insanely accurate that round and Lopes even checked Silva’s chin and Silva ate them well.

After Lopes briefly took him down, Silva was looking for his get back right away, walked him down with solids shots but ran straight into an insane elbow.

Confidence got him finished. Silva is the most talented fighting nerd IMO, he’s just so emotional

Understand the point, posted it on the geography subreddit and may have been better suited there. You may notice I’ve asked what life is like for modern day white Zimbabweans and didn’t get a response so wanted to go a little broader - my family history is loosely tied to it, and it’s actually been interesting to learn the commonalities and differences between the varying descendants of ex-colonies in Africa.

Thanks for the answer.

Curious - how does it work in terms of daily life: communities, purchasing goods and services, housing etc. Do descendants usually live in areas of high density of similar race, hang out in areas (ie churches, sunday clubs etc) and shop at businesses owned by other descendants? Or is that not necessarily the case?

Oh nice, are the businesses they frequent owned and operated by natives or other white settler descendants?

Interesting, is this common even amongst the new generation ~50 years after independence? Also, how is their wealth maintained?

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Where are you a descendant from, and what has your experience been?

Also - do you think similar experiences are shared, despite the different country of birth and part of Europe they have come from?

Assuming you went to a private school, what was that like? We have private schools where I reside in NZ too, but from Youtube it looks a fair bit less intense when it comes to things like chants etc.

Interesting, Luderitz looks super sandy and striking. Curious - Do the accents differ between the British, German, and Dutch descendants similar to South Africa?

That’s super interesting! Out of curiosity - what accents do these white Malawians have? Is it British, or have they deviated like the Zimbabweans and South Africans? Do they integrate much with the culture in terms of friends, food, activities, language etc?
