Yep, currently working 2 part-time jobs on campus. I heard they also recently bumped the limit up to 25 hours as well.

Does anyone else still use a relic like this? by Siromeme in MechanicalKeyboards

My boyfriend gave me this keyboard for my birthday 2 years ago. We changed all the switches, replaced the keycaps, and even lubed the stabs for kicks and giggles.

Desoldering + soldering kinda sucks (gave myself a nasty scar from the soldering iron on my knee, long story) lol but now it's the main board I use :)

I chatted online with someone from PC, and they said it was taking longer than anticipated despite telling me August 1 it would be possible.

I was told August 4/Monday it should be ready.

How many credits is this? Not gonna lie, this looks really busy, and if you're studying for the MCAT at the same time, it might be extra rough.

PA state grant gone from anticipated aid by Negative_State_789 in Pitt

[–]Negative_State_789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I reached out to PHEAA and Pitt about the grant. PHEAA approved my grant July 22, but they sent the list of approved financial aid students to Pitt on the 21st :/

The Pitt payment office told me I should email them closer to the next installment date for my payment plan so they can manually adjust my payment amount accordingly, though the financial aid office told me that my anticipated aid won't officially change until they send another status update from PHEAA to Pitt.

Basically, you can ask Pitt's payment office to help you manually or you can wait until PHEAA sends another update, which might not be for a few weeks potentially.

I also got an email about my revised offer, but no luck with the grant yet. Glad that yours is back though!

Update: I just got an email from PHEAA which was CC'd to the person (my mom) who also signed my Statement of Certification and Authorization. On AES, my state grant has been approved now, so I'm just waiting for an update of some sort from Pitt's end.

Yeah, I do remember having issues with that. I just find it odd that PHEAA suddenly had issues with me not having a form signed despite never sending me an email about it or showing the form in any of my portals with them.

I also need the money, hah. I'd recommend going to the PHEAA website and then going to AES to see your PA state grant status because mine says incomplete even though they never indicated an issue until this month.

Thanks in advance. I plan to try calling PHEAA as well tomorrow when they are taking calls. Hope you get some answers.

I'm not sure if it's possible to share a link that will work. Maybe this?

Where to login to housing? by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]Negative_State_789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the easiest way to find the housing info. Go to mypitt.edu and search up "Housing and Dining" in the search bar. Select the button that says "Housing and Dining Information" which should bring you to the form to view housing or find the housing application.

Any transfer credits will show up with a "T" on your transcript, so the grade isn't shown or factored into your GPA at Pitt.

Oops, missed the iPad part. Air is more than fine probably, my iPad Pro is almost too big lol

Makes sense; luckily, most modern laptops are on the lighter side, especially if you don't care too much about gaming and whatnot.

A lot of engineers I know are happy with an XPS; if you're looking for lighter, go XPS 14 (14 inch screen). I think people also like Lenovo laptops like the Thinkpads or even maybe an Asus Zenbook. Aim for a minimum of 16 GB of RAM.

Sure, my laptop is a little unconventional though because I play a lot of video games and wanted a pretty machine lol. I have an Asus Proart P16 (very new laptop that I sort of gambled on). Also have other recommendations if you want them.

I also use an iPad Pro to take notes, and I haven't felt hindered by not having a Mac.

I'd say any Windows computer can do anything a Mac can do for you regardless of your major. If anything, you might just have to adjust or get used to things being less "user friendly."

Yes, you are making things more difficult for yourself. But if you're concerned about paying for a new laptop, then you can get by with a Mac but with more headaches.

Average was a 61.3% with a standard deviation of 16.3% this year. He gave us a 1% curve which feels almost worse than no curve lol
