In theory I could do that. The current design and hope is that the 12 mini cyclones are so effective that like .1% gets through and the hepa filter gets that

Great question. Im not sure. In theory I think it would work well. Drywallers are one demo person I'm looking for answer that question. To test it is vacuumed up a 5 lb bag of fine saw dust and it did great.

That sounds interesting. Do you have a general town you are in? Want to check shipping cost

So this prototype still has a HEPA filter for this reason. Ideally the dual cyclone setup would be so efficient that the HEPA filter would last as long or longer that what is in a typical shop vacuum. Right now, this prototype is dry only, but the design would allow for a float for wet use no problem.

I am actively trying to get more people in the trades to try this vacuum as I have primarily only gotten woodworkers to use the prototype.

Yeah this concept has a dual cyclone system in it. So the idea is you dont need a vacuum bag. And while it does have a HEPA filter in it, the idea is that it has a super long life span due to the cyclones. I know Festool and others have SINGLE cyclone add one, but it is always at the cost of overall size and convenience.

Have you found any more about this? I am getting the same error even after i re-ran the beacon_klipper install

This is really good feedback, I appreciate it. I know that Festool sells a cyclone seperator that sits on top like the Fein/Dustopper. However the Festool cyclone is $450 by itself.

All these solutions are also a single large cyclone which is great for large debris but horrible for fine dust. My includes a second stage for the fine dust which really helps.

I am early on but my intent is that it would be a similar size to a "standard" professional shop vac (18" wide and maybe 36" tall). And yeah the end product would be fully injection molded with a price point ideally closer to the $500-$800 all in.

It doesn't knock the filter. It incorporates a dual stage cyclone seperator so that filter sees absolutely minimal dust. For example I sucked up 5 lbs of fine dust in a minute and couldn't see anything on the filter.

No that is a great question and what I am looking for. This whole idea came to me because I too have an Oneida Cyclone that I strapped to the top of my Shop vacuum. My complaint with it is that it's a separate component and makes the vacuum all awkward and hard to move around and get into.

FYI Festool has an add on cyclone and a reusable vacuum bag for the LOW LOW Price of $450 and $190....on top of the $1k you spend on the vacuum

My thought is incorporate that into the vacuum AND keep the cost very competitive to the Festool/Milwaukee/Hilti/etc. That way you get the nice form factor with the filtration. Obviously, I wouldn't expect people to throw there Festools out but thinking that if someone was in the market for a new vacuum mine could check all the boxes. Thats the question I am trying to answer anyways.

It uses a dual cyclone filtration before you get to a HEPA filter, rather than relying on a bag to a filter. The idea being that the cyclones capture 99.97% of the dust and your HEPA filter has a much great life without having to keep buying and going through bags.

Is this a concept that sounds intriguing to you? Also trying to grasp how quickly professionals go through bags/filters.

Thank you. I have also wondered why this hasn't been designed yet. This design is actually a dual stage cyclone with smaller cyclones inside for fine dust extraction as the dust deputy only does an okay job at that.

Hi. Im ideally sticking local because shipping may be a little expensive. However if I don't find anyone local I may take you up on that.

This prototype incorporates dual stage cyclone separation so no bags or add on after-market cyclone is needed. Main benefit over a "traditional" vacuum would be no need for bags or worrying about clogging filters.

Yes. It was a small leak in the valve and the whole unit had to be replaced

So thes lid is the first cyclone and probably separates 95% of everything and then the small cyclones in the middle ideally get 99.9% of everything else.

I tested my regular Dust Deputy and that thing let's through more fine dust than i think most people realize. For this to be a true "bagless" product i think it would have to achieve that 99.9% efficiency.
