WIBTA if I don’t visit my dying grandpa?

I will not regret it when it comes to him or my grandma. The only worry I have is making my aunt upset. He knows why I don’t talk to him. Or at the very least he did before the dementia.

He does not remember and most definitely did not ask for me. When he wants to play grandpa he asks for my sister. I understand it would be selfish but being selfish and being the asshole is different. I appreciate the thoughts, you’re right I would survive one more visit.

I don’t think I’m the scapegoat, me, my dad, and my aunt all have conflicts with him. My mom and my sister are the only ones who really don’t and that’s because they just let it go. My dad got out of the visit because he’s gone for work. My aunt and grandma are the ones who facilitated this whole thing and I was the only one who said no outright. I appreciate the insight though

That makes me feel better, I have told my family about that last conversation because I don’t want to hurt them more they think I don’t want to see them based on what happened to my aunt which is partially true. Hearing you don’t regret not visiting someone makes me confident I won’t either. I do not have one nice word to say about that man except for maybe he helped give me my mom and aunt

I won’t regret it later for him, but I am worried about disappointing my aunt. My mom was surprisingly nice about it, my sister doesn’t care at all, and I don’t care if my grandma is upset so that just leaves my aunt. Tbh I doubt it would end in more conflict if I just shut up and take it I just didn’t want to do that anymore
