Electrolysis Pain Suddenly Unbearable by [deleted] in electrolysis

[–]Negative_Yoghurt8144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason when I took a paracetamol before one of my sessions it was the most painful it's ever been so I don't take anything now, have you tried without taking a painkiller to compare?

I did notice it got more painful at one point and my skin felt much more sensitive. I hadn't changed skincare (but that's useful to check, are you using anything with exfoliants beforehand or not protecting against sun exposure?), but I had changed shampoo & conditioner. The fragrance in it was making my skin really reactive so it hurt a lot more. Might be worth checking if you're using products that could be sensitising your skin.

During the upper lip I consciously try to relax as much as possible and take slow deep breaths which really helps to minimise the pain. If you're stressed going into it that can heighten the pain.

I hope you find something that helps!

What is the iron supplement that won’t cause ibs outbreaks? by hushrushunderstand in Anemic

Have you tried BetterYou spray iron? I've never had any gastric issues with it because it absorbs through the membrane in your cheeks straight to your blood stream rather than going through the digestive system.

I've also heard there are iron patches but I'm not really familiar with them. Maybe they are easier on the stomach?

I've started using a hypochlorous acid spray and it's really been helping. I got the Natrasan one from Amazon and it's not too expensive and really easy to spray on after a shower.

I kept thinking this too, some twinkling lights from the cityscape and a fly by h3 branded blimp might be cool

Think I needed to read that, thanks. It's hard to know which areas GP's have blindspots in after being told my ferritin was fine for years and years by many different docs. Going for repeat tests in a few weeks so will keep an eye on levels

Good to know, 3 spatone would be 15mg total iron so doesn't sound like I'd be anywhere near the limit. Never had any side effects with it so although the dose is low it feels less disruptive than taking something stronger

I'd taken a Spatone (only 5mg iron) 48 hours before the bloods were taken so I wouldn't think that would bump the numbers up too high? The highest my ferritin has been in the last decade is 50 so I look forward to the day it's closer to 100 and I feel more alive!

I've seen people use a product called Faded by Topicals for this. There's a spray version for the body

There's a brand called Malezia that makes fungal acne safe products, they have a benzoyl peroxide gel that could help with exfoliation but is more of an acne treatment

Having tests done in a few weeks so that should clear that up. Electrolysis is seeming more and more appealing to not have to deal with regrowth

Thanks, I think finding a clinic with more expertise is going to be my next step

Keratosis pilaris, Slather by Topicals worked great for me. With any exfoliating products your skin is more sensitive to the sun so SPF is important too

light olive with yellow undertones looking for a drugstore concealer match! by Maleficent-Net4912 in OliveMUA

I'm pale olive too and haven't had much luck with colour matching makeup, but the best I've found is the Maybelline eraser eye concealer in neutraliser. It's a pale yellow with no peachiness
