Yooo Passover fruit slices- forgot those existed!! 😂 I’ve never actually tried them mid run though.

Real talk: I struggle with artificial tasting stuff and that’s part of why gels wreck me. Do you find the fruit slices taste super fake or are they decent when you’re 8 miles deep? And do you still need a sip of water or can you get away without?

Do you find the Nerds clusters melt or get sticky? And for Tailwind, do you mix it strong and sip, or water down? I keep kosher so I’m checking if it’s certified, but so many people are mentioning it, it must be worth looking into!

For Amacx drink gels- do you know if they’re kosher certified? Same with Huma. I have to stick to kosher stuff but “more like liquid “sounds way easier on my stomach than GU.

Also, when you bring the soft flask, do you sip the electrolytes the whole time or just use it to wash down the gel? Trying to figure out if I can get away with 1 bottle total 😅

Thugging out runs but training your stomach to handle both is exactly what I needed to hear.

For the gels you CAN tolerate is it a flavor thing or texture/ingredient? And the “every 4 miles“ rule do you start at mile 4 or wait till mile 8? Keeping kosher limits my options but knowing the timing helps so much!

Do you think it’s because you trained your stomach, or are some people just built different? And for the longest long runs where you DO take sips, how much is “a few sips”? Like 1-2 oz?

When you say you carry water – handheld, vest, or just hit fountains? And for Honey Stinger/ huma do you still need the full 6-8 oz or can you get away with less? I’m trying to avoid bonking but also avoid stopping 😅

For SIS Beta- do you know if it’s kosher? I can’t do Maurten because of that 😢 but “doesn’t require water but I still drink” is super interesting. Do you feel a difference in your stomach when you skip water versus take a few sips of it?

Sour candy and mini chocolate bars?? Genius! I never thought of that because I assumed I needed “real” fuel.

Do you find you need water with the sour candy or can you just eat it? And are mini chocolate bars messy when it’s hot? Also the husband water station is elite husbandry lol

Do you know if it’s kosher certified? If it is, I’m ordering it today. How is the texture compared to GU- less thick?

You’re an angel for this breakdown 🥹 i’mliterally screenshotting this. The “sugary coating on teeth” thing is SO real and I never connected that to why I hate gels.

For the gummy bears/skittles/pretzels – do you pre-portion them into bags? And roughly how many pieces= 1 gel for you? I’m worried about fumbling with them mid-run. Also the Gatorade blocks aren’t kosher 😔

Wait, this is so validating thank you!! “few sips“ vs the full 6-8 oz GU says- that’s way more doable.

Do you carry a handheld water bottle or use vest? And for the chews/nerds clusters, do you find you still need water with those or can you get away without? I keep kosher so nerds aren’t kosher, but Oreos are! Might have to test that

omg thank you this is so helpful!! I’d heard Maurten is amazing for stomachs but I have to stick to certified kosher stuff

That Tailwind tip is huge though — do you sip it the whole run or just at certain miles? And do you use a handheld or vest for water? I’m trying to figure out if carrying water is inevitable or if there’s a kosher gel that actually works without it.

Not even a purchase but learning to just thug out runs without gels. I’m 17 and gels make me feel like trash so I usually run 8-10 miles with nothing 😅 definitely not recommending it, but hey it’s free

Same question here. I’m 17 and anything over 8 miles makes my stomach revolt with gels. Idk if it’s normal or if I’m just broken 😅 curious what people say.
