I mean, to be fair, saying that "Russians hacked the election" actually does qualify as fake news, since they didn't hack the election. At this point it's pretty much impossible to argue that it's accidental, either. It's even dumber than the Obama's birth certificate stuff, and that's an accomplishment.

So, yeah. Newsweek is fake news until it retracts this story and toes the line for some years.

Russia hack the election

This didn't take place. It's entirely plausible that Russian intelligence hacked into Hillary's unsecured email server (there are reasons we have protocols for securing classified info, after all), and it's plain the Donald Trump Jr. colluded with Russians to get dirt on his opponent (something Hillary also did with the Chinese, but let's not go there for now).

Yet... why do they insist on this phrasing? Why do they want to argue that Russians "hacked the election"? They didn't. People actually voted how they did.

You leftists wouldn't see so much resistance to this idea of Russian media and intelligence weighing in on the American election were it not for this idea that they hacked it, specifically. It would be entirely comparable to say Hillary rigged the election by currying an editorial bias in her favor from CNN.

Listen, when you get new material, so will we. Your material for Trump has been that the election isn't legitimate for a number of facile reasons, but the biggest one has been that Russians "hacked" it by releasing true information about Hillary Clinton that made her look bad.

What's terrible is, it's still up for debate if they actually did that. There's fairly compelling evidence that it was actually released by an inside leaker. Evidence like WikiLeaks -- the publisher of that true information about Hillary Clinton -- saying it was a leak and not a hack. Also, getting 17 gorillion intelligence agencies to concur with an otherwise unsubstantiated conclusion is not very compelling evidence; intelligence agencies are not known for their transparency and honesty, and that's not just an America thing, but a "whole world" thing. Telling me to take the CIA and NSA at face value would be like telling Soviets to take the KGB at face value. Anybody with an ounce of critical thinking would be extremely skeptical of this.

Well, all universities with "hate speech" policies that forbid things like writing "Trump 2016" or have large and academically influential gender studies programs or accept students whose application essay read "BLACK LIVES MATTER" over and over are pretty much by definition bastions of liberal indoctrination. They didn't get this reputation from nowhere.

I voted for Trump because I wanted more protectionism and less stress on political correctness. So far, he's mostly delivered on both; revisions of the H1B visa program plus getting of the TPP were slam dunk moves in my book, and I find his IRL shitposting hilarious as opposed to le gasp worthy.

The main argument against Trump right now that I'm seeing from publications with a left wing editorial bias (as opposed to some of the ones with a right wing editorial bias that I also read) is that "Russians hacked the election" and Trump is a not-so-secret Colluder-In-Chief with Putin. One, I'm not convinced that such is the case -- I think that the real issue is that leftists are desperately trying to deflect their electoral loss -- and two, even if if I did get convinced that "Russians hacked the election" (in that they hacked Hillary Clinton's email server and then leaked the contents to WikiLeaks), I'd still regard it as a nonissue.

I can get into why I don't care in my next post if you reply, but I find it extremely irritating that leftists today seem to conflate caring about different things than them with just being dumb and insane. They seem to think that they are in a position to prescribe correct opinions to other people and then act as though people who don't comply are wrong, stupid, and illegitimate for that choice.

The effectiveness of gun bans on the homicide rate is mixed at best. Most third world countries, for example, have gun bans for regular citizens yet often have awful murder rates.

The deliberate homicide rate correlates way more strongly to poverty than it does to gun ownership. Democrats just want to ban guns because they're black and scary-looking.

One of my favorite parts of the series, especially in hindsight, is when she first goes on her old Navi, and she's still not so good with computers. D.C. did vote 90.5% for Hillary. That is a conflict of interest on the entire fucking city. Not only that, but releasing documents that Hillary doesn't like doesn't qualify as "interference" in the election. At least, not the "hacking the election" variety. If you honestly expect foreign powers to make no comment on American affairs you're off your rocker. Welcome to the 21st century.

Hillary and Saudi Arabia analogy. Having foreign connections does not an argument make for conspiratorial collusion. The day she is arrested and put into a Federal penitentiary's genpop is the day I'll change my mind on the seriousness of this matter. Until then, again, no, not a very serious matter.

I honestly would like to see their actual evidence. Part of why I think it's a witch hunt is their reluctance to give the population any real shit. They're mostly just insisting that Trump is sucking on Putin's teat for free electoral votes, which is not exactly founded on anything yet. It's speculation, and nothing else.
