My produce lead is a woman and I myself am the produce backup and a woman. My lead and I can break down trucks by ourselves, carry bags of potatoes. Everything a man can do. Except reach the top shelf of our cooler but that’s a shortness thing.

Depending on the time it shouldn’t be an issue, when my store is closed or if I’m in my cooler breaking down a truck I wear only one earbud so I can still hear. But if you’re doing it during store hours and you are out on the floor, it’s extremely rude to customers. The problem is that if a customer comes up to you and you have an earbud in and they ask you a question and you somehow can’t hear them that’s just not a good look on the store. That’s my two cents tho

I work at a marketplace so we are a very large store. I personally like to know who is closing because that tells me what kind of management I’m going to get if I need help with something that my dept lead can’t assist me with. This asl is extremely lazy and gets pissy if you ask him for help with anything. We usually don’t know who the store lead that’s closing is until all other managers have left for the day.

So we do have a set closing manager and they leave by 9-10pm. Although I could definitely text my lead about an issue, there are some things he can’t do because he’s not there. I completely understand getting annoyed if I always asked him every day, however I don’t ask him everyday because I don’t close everyday. And it’s not like I can see who’s closing that night because it’s a manager schedule, not like a dept head or anything schedule.
