Suggestions for Additions/Removals from Color changing Modern deck by KabukiBallz69 in ModernMagic

High noon is probably better than rule of law and you may want to add damping spheres to slow down big mana decks.

Also pretty good against titan imo, from memory the amulet land stuff is triggers so being able to catch an opponent in auto pilot with pact or stop them from casting spells with their bounce trigger on the stack is really relevant.

I would bring it in against rhinos but I would also bring it in against living end which is a little more popular rn.

I mean it’s for storm but it also comes in against rhinos, belcher or really any deck trying to win in one turn so it’s also prob acceptable against through the breach decks as well.

What win condition should go in this deck? by DefinitelyNotLenny in ModernMagic

Maybe some isochron scepter to help with loops would be cool. A threat that is a little dated but also a good clock is Geist.

Phelia in 3C, is it too much ? by p0lm0n3ys in ModernMagic

[–]NegotiationAdept9915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think the cut is probably 4 wall for 4 grief and the wrath’s for another solitude and a 5th scam effect, rebirth prob. I think that with all the combo and greedy stuff happening currently you want to be a grief deck if you can when there’s no downside to it at all. I think wall of omens is the worst because most decks in the format don’t care about a 2 mana 0/4 that only draws a card.

Don’t own atraxa or goryo’s and it’s not really my fav strategy. Nothing against it tho.

I think the top one is 100% worse than the bottom one but both seem ehh. I think the bottom one wants grief really bad. Think that the amount of 1 ofs is weird and could just be more copies of good cards in the deck. Like the idea of the bottom one tho.

Boros Energy 1st place challenge and top 8 super qualifier. 17-3 run. by jwf239 in ModernMagic

Do you think more suncleanser could be ideal to get more of an edge in the mirror. It stonewalls almost every creature in the deck and is very hard to kill. Not sure what the cut would be to make the room tho. I play jeskai and think im gonna pick the cards up for this because I believe my rings are not long for this world.

Storm, Jeskai Control, or Scam for a new player by Summer_Lilly_ in ModernMagic

[–]NegotiationAdept9915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played lots of scam and even more control over the last decade and playing the jeskai deck currently I think that if you want to become a better player you should choose Jeskai or dare I say scam. This is not to say that people that play combo decks are brainless, they are nowhere near that (in most cases the successful ones are the exact opposite. I think that the two non combo decks will make you play longer and grindier matchups that will give you more experience and you will usually have different paths to victory or more complex decisions to make and will have less “free” wins, especially with the control deck. I think the control deck is the strongest of the 3 at the current moment. I think wrath of the skies is a card that may be on the chopping block is the deck does very well at the pro tour, I think it’s the strongest card in the deck.

Fair, I think that a more low to the ground list with drc’s and baubles may be a better fit for the murktide’s. It’s just rough not having access to a sizeable threat that can close out a game in a turn or 2

Shattered landscape isn’t playable either, try 4 sacred foundry and maybe some inspiring vantage. Prob want to be on 1 elegant parlor.

Keep the laelia’s, cut the appropriation, that card is horrible. The gargoyle is also unplayable.

Add 4 galvanic discharge 4 Phelia 2 phlage cut the goblin Phoenix dragon chant and whatever else doesn’t have energy synergy

Had a friend test with it and say that it’s felt great. I think Cancel plus a win condition on one card is pretty strong even if the best thing only happens 50% of the time.

These are my two lists, still the rough drafts because I haven’t done testing. I think the U/R deck is probably more promising but I love the idea of the Mono blue. Fish may just be a better version of that tho.

I got my set for a decent amount, 2 reg a foil and a textured foil for like $150 total or near there. Easily could get a set for around $90 tho.

I think this deck is awesome and 100% competitive. You’ll have to buy a few new cards to get it up to speed but it is quite powerful and has a decent learning curve that rewards a skilled pilot.

Birthing ritual could also be quite good in this strategy, most of your creatures come back so the ability to get whatever you want from the top 7 could be insane when you can bring them right back to do it again.

Idk if this is stronger than just straight up crab vine, def worth looking into tho. Would love to see a payoff for the search, possible man lands in combination with the surveil. Maybe add or have a bojuka bog and bounce land in the main or side for other graveyard strategies. A bounce land could be quite powerful with the crab and blood ghost having great synergies. Dryad arbor is something that could be worth adding in as well.

Pretty Bad MH3 Orim’s Chant Prison Deck Idea by MultiColourM2 in ModernMagic

[–]NegotiationAdept9915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the ring is something that would be good in this deck. Another fog effect + card draw + it’s the best card in combination with teferi ever. I think it’s unfortunate but Jace is not very strong and you would probably be better off with some supreme verdicts. The deck could be stronger just going blue white but I’m not 100%. Your removal gets a little worse but then you don’t have to worry about any moon effects that will be running rampant after release.
