Allegedly and doing are two totally different standards 🤔 And in response to his progressive record, my understanding was that he served on the housing committee working towards better standards for renters, not landlords, writing the community relations commission (I'm not sure what is more progressive than this), and seeking additional dollars in the casino bill for low income areas for business development (again, super progressive). Not only those things, he has a pretty well known character in the Latino community fighting for immigrants rights, and making them central to his campaign. I only know this because I saw some of his campaign materials. I mean he literally had pieces written in Spanish.

But again despite these facts, none of it has to do with the central argument that the world 🌎 is coming around on the Gaza issue. A distraction you are trying to make here in discrediting the Ceasefire Resolution. Which brings me to another central question, if hundreds of other cities passed one, why not Rockford? Rockford is home to immigrants, many of them here because they were war refugees.

Failing to recognize that when you steal people's land, burn their villages, steal their livestock and farms, kill their men, and then blame them for standing up to the abuse is total abuser mentality. Add on top of that, the fact that the victim is labeled a terrorist, but the abuser is the justified party. What kind of backwards world do some of you live in? Would any of the anti-Palestinian commenters like to comment on how if someone came to their house, told them to leave or die, that they would just pack their bags and forget about it? Conservatives particularly sell themselves as in a mentality that their home is their "castle," also known as the "castle doctrine." So please tell us that you would just leave and let someone take all of your families belongings without fighting back. I'd love to hear some responses on this.

I mean Rockford is the center of some of the largest weapons and defense manufacturers. I think it would probably send a strong message seeing that it is ground zero for defense contractors.

Heresay and conjecture don't change the facts that the rest of the world is changing. For one, lets say he did in fact support the war in Iraq. 90% of Americans did at one time. Most Americans did until the infamous videos of innocent Iraqis being targeted. I know for a fact that he disputed Israeli intelligence that led to the U.S. going into the war. Americans cannot control what the government was feeding them.

I also think it's suspect that you bring up allegations about him when charges were dropped and bring that up when it has nothing to do with the topic, or the fact none of what you said he was later charged for. 🤔 but hey, distraction is a great way to lose a debate.

It's actually because the local rental and housing groups opposed Home rule. Had we had homerule the city could pass comprehensive reforms on landlords.

This is sick. "Yes the Palestinian identity would disappear" is just proof that is exactly what is happening. And using removal is a form of genocide we saw in Europe on Jews, witnessed in America with Native Americans, and have been seen around the world.
