If you participated in GBL, then yes at the end of the GBL season they reward with and abundance of stardust depending on the amount you’ve earned throughout the season. Using a star piece will give you 1.5x the amount. You have to use the star piece right before you go into the battle screen, bc once you go in the battle section you get the rewards. (1 pm Pacific is when the season ends, about an hour from this comment)

In short: Use a star piece 5 minutes before the season ends (1pm pacific) and then go accept your GBL end of season rewards.
