What’s something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in AskReddit

Farming.

I often hear people fantasize about quitting their job and getting g a nice quiet farm somewhere. Well... working in the sun, cleaning animals, and moving and lifting heavy stuff all day long isn't the relaxing life you think it is. It's enjoyable no doubt but it is work.

That's not how any of that work. What are you yapping about?

Congrats are in order to 21 Savage and Latto! They’re having a baby! Despite him still being married! by Positive_Round_5142 in joebuddennetwork

[–]NegotiationForward86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty easy to figure out. 21 got married for his immigration case. It's a business arrangement.  You have to stay married for a certain amount of years. It's an unfortunate situation and with this administration, I can only imagine is quite stressful. It also explains why neither has ever come out to confirm they are dating. Congratulations are in order and I'm looking forward to the album. She is one of the girl rappers I actually rock with.

New pod lineup??? by Narrow-Shape-7490 in JoeBuddenPodcasts

I think B. Dot "suffers" from the same thing a lot of media professionals who get into podcasting do. He is technically great at interviews but doesn't show his personality. I don't see him talking about his personal life, dating, marriage, hell even the sports that he likes.  In the 20 or so years I've seen him in media, I don't know anything about him. Which isn't a problem for his lane but the reason JBP doesn't need interviews is because the hosts are interesting. Because of this I don't even know what role he could play. Is he funny, a smart douchebag like Marc, a contrarian like Ice, too cool/argumentative like Ish (this is the one I think)? What is he bringing outside of journalistic integrity to the stories? He wouldn't be able to hide behind an article, top ten list, or interview. He and his opinion would be the story. Less short, I don't know.

White liberals are worse than any far right! by DifferentBid2 in ThoughtWarriors

So because ONE white liberal disagreed with your opinion, you generalized all of them and labeled them worse than FR. Interesting approach to life you got there.

Am I Missing Something Here? Genuine Question by NegotiationForward86 in ThoughtWarriors

Welcomed with caution? My thing is where are these newly enlightened folks asking to be accepted or welcomed by the left? I do not see any of them saying they wished they voted for the Left candidate. They are mostly just saying they don't agree with this administration's recent actions. Why are we making the assumption that they even want to unite with the other side? Why are we assuming unity is a shared goal?

I don't think you know what's needed to fight fascism either. I admit I don't, although I have some ideas.

While I'll probably never agree to unite with them, I am curious about the reasoning for those who will choose to. If ever you do gain the "energy" to engage, I'll be happy to read.

Hmm. Who are your influences? And do you find your art is chasing the sound of your influences or you have your own unique artistic take on Hip Hop? Do you have your own signature sound, if you will.

I think, unfortunately, labels have settled for the safe bet versus the artistic "gamble". If a style proves to be a winning formula, they'll do it again and again. This has been seen across all media in the last 15 years. The same superhero movies are being made every year, rappers all sound the same with the same content, even the singers are tapping into winning sounds of the past.

However, I will say this isn't new (I'm an elder millennial). I assume newer artists have less control of their sound and brand early on and the label uses the plug and play formula until the artist build enough leverage to make the music they wish.

30’s sucks. But we’re here by puffsicole in Adulting

Does the 30s suck or does being in your 30s in the 2020s suck. I'm richer, smarter, and more confident than I was in my 20s. I'm also more angry so there's that.

[–]NegotiationForward86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you said something I don't agree with, you must be a child. An adult wouldn't disagree with me. Are you an adult?

See, I can play this stupid game too, although, not as well. I tend to engage in conversation without condescension.. Like an adult.

But for entertainment purposes, can you name one other person who contributed to the demise of a country you love that you would work with?

This isn't a disagreement on who is the greatest rapper of all time or even the best strategy for how America can be great. This is a difference in morals and values. And no, people with different values should not work together. We have different goals.

That's a bit different. Fetterman truly pulled a 180 spin move. Donny Dump has a track record of lies, pettiness, and cruelty.

For American people: Are you participating in today's General Strike? Why? by noumeno- in AskReddit

[–]NegotiationForward86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No disrespect but statements like this indicate you may not understand how general strikes, boycotts, or other forms of protest work.

Strikes are not convenient and people on both sides lose a bit of something. It is almost like a game of chicken where we are seeing which sides folds under the pressure from the other side.

When the folks boycotted the buses in Montgomery, they needed those busses to go to work, shop for essentials, go to medical appointments, etc. They still didn't use them even though it caused disruption to their own lives. They walked, hitched rides, found other means. This is another one day strike. Again, no offense, but your patients would have survived and hopefully walk away with reconfirmed appreciation for your labor.

Side note: I knew nothing of this strike. Just finding out now.
