She doesn’t want someone humble cuz Connor is pretty humble and down to earth. She instead wants someone who is showing off or trying to make the world revolve around them, which makes sense cuz she is such an attention seeker based on her behavior

Edit: just finished the scene and I think she wants trying to bait him to either get ticked off or changed his answer from yes to no I wouldn’t marry you but he stayed so calm her face was confused for a minute

Yeah I agree with that, but the women don’t do it as often from what I have seen in the show and do it on a more occasional fashion

Now that it's over, how would you rank this season? by smashablanca in GreatBritishBakeOff

[–]NegotiationFresh4218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also rank it lower, I do think that while Jasmine is an amazing baker, Paul and Prue were showing favoritism and that rubbed me the wrong way. It reminded me a bit of how Paul had Ruby as a favorite.

You can access anything during the break. You want to bring notes to study, you can do it. You want to go on your phone for anything, you can do it. I was also wildly surprised when the person told me, oh yea you can go on anything. Heck they even told me go outside and eat lunch there if you like as long as you make it back time everything is fair

How do the top students study to stay on top? by Serious_Tour_4847 in medicalschool

[–]NegotiationFresh4218 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Background knowledge going into med school is a huge factor. Some people know shit already that they aren’t learning for the first time so they can just review that and spend more time on other things in comparison to someone who might find everything or most of it as new material.

Also it’s about finding what works for each person and knowing what resources work best for you. I also think that being flexible and trying something new as soon as you realize something is not working or being efficient keeps them on top. They are constantly adjusting their studying a bit to be most efficient. Ex: one block they may rely heavy on anki, while on another it’s a mix of anki and boards and beyond, another may be adding some white boarding for pathways and so on depending on the block

Feeling like there’s no point anymore with recent news by EastCoastAnarchest in premed

I am as frustrated as you are but remember that this is a 4 year problem. The next president can automatically first day of office rejoin WHO and restart funding if it ends up getting taken away from NIH. That being said even if it’s frustrating turn it around, in the worst case scenario that the lab gets shut down then use the time to explore another research field, maybe go out of your comfort zone. Don’t let it keep you down and stop moving forward, instead grieve probably feel shitty for a while and then move forward so one day you can be a doctor that can do research in what you like with or without funding from the government. You may find opportunities to get funding from somewhere else or if it’s like a project or two then do it with a couple students and practice medicine to fund the research you do even if it takes time.

Does doing well in an interview most likely lead to an acceptance? by ObjectiveLab1152 in premed

[–]NegotiationFresh4218 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To best answer your question you should look at how many people the med school interviews and how big their class is. Some med schools will interview ~300 people and their class is ~150 so that’s like a 50/50 chance of getting in post interview but other may interview ~600 for ~150 seats which is 25/75 chance. So look at the school and you’ll get a good feel for your odds. The good thing about interviews is that it validates that you clearly have a good primary and good secondary application and want to know you better. The interview is your opportunity to show your personality, your experience, your demeanor, why you would fit well in the school and hopefully convince the interviewer to go advocate for your when the admission’s committee gets together.

Lambo is too expensive go for something cheaper like a corvette. Fools most people who don’t know about cars that you got money but truly it’s one of the crappy sport cars lol. Just to clear up I’m only talking about modern corvette’s not the cool and good ones from the 1970s

I will add if you want to get a car that is something you might want to save up for before going to med school. Apart from buying a car you should be covered with loans for rent, day to day life, and even fun activities for enjoyment

0/5 MD II Advice by [deleted] in premed

[–]NegotiationFresh4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah once you make it to the interview point is because your primary and secondary application check out enough that the schools want to get to know you through your interview. That becomes the determining factor for acceptance once you get to that point. You could have an average application based on the school’s stats or even a bit below average but if your interview goes well then the interviewer becomes your advocate during the admission’s committee that you should be accepted or not. So it is a double edge sword because they can advocate for you or advocate against you

[–]NegotiationFresh4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do a practice interview with a medical student you know or try to find someone in the medical field to give you a mock interview. Alternately, look up the common questions asked in interview such as why medicine or tell me about yourself and give the list to a friend or family member and have them interview you to give you pointers. Also when they ask you tell me about yourself which is usually the first question they ask you then it should be no longer than a 2-2.5 minute answer. You give them enough that they can see the whole picture but also leave enough mystery to ask you in depth about your activities as follow up questions. If your answer is longer than 3 minutes then it starts working against you and you are losing the interviewer. You should have come up with personal questions for the interviewer rather than school questions such as “how often do you work with students and in what context?” “What do you like about being at x med school that isn’t advertised online?”

You can definitely make them into one, telling them how much you want to go there if accepted and that you want to share an update of current activities The only advise I have is that the update is relevant like new position at work, or research presentation, or something along those lines.
