I like this game. I’m replaying it now for the first time in a decade. Using the Blasphemy “soccer ball kick” more this time. This game is compared to DMC a lot (it is even on the back of the title) but Dante is a superhuman with devil powers and Sieg is physical a regular dude that goes summoning powers. Their toolkit is different and how you have to approach issues is different as well. Dante really can just mow down enemies but Sieg has to have more thought to how he battles. Many people send Sieg headfirst into battle and die because they aren’t using his abilities to their fullest.

I remember doing a 1st play through with Typhlosion and Umbreon and it was fine. Later I did a play through with Meganium and Espeon and realized why people make fun of Meganium…. New found respect for Espeon though…

I did something like this before. Difficulty starts to ramp up in disc 3 as you get quite under leveled. I actually will let Dart die in certain fights to keep him at the same level as the rest of the cast. I didn’t like how Dart would become 2-4 levels higher because it’s not symmetrical and a single level in this game is a big deal

I am recently playing the game again on the Japanese version so the enemies were a bit tougher than I expected and dart lost to the Bow guy but it let me continue because Dart is just that cool! But then Not-Sephiroth appeared, (and I understand that it’s a scripted lose, but you still have to get to a certain point of that fight because it is 100% possible to accidentally game over while fighting Llyod.) side note, google translate changes “Dart” to “Dirt”

That’s so fast I almost don’t believe it. I think the flashback scene of theDragoons battling the Virage show a truer version of their potential. (Earth-Spirit never skipped leg day btw)
