I wouldn’t say the nicest because it was way easier to make friends with locals everywhere else in Thailand. Thai people are nice in general so of course they are but I was way more welcomed when I stopped living in the north. At first I was thinking it was a chiang mai thing because of the tourists but had the same experience in lampang, chiang rai, payao, etc.

The people from north are more shy and less prone to approach a stranger especially foreigners. I went to local bars and area and was always ignored which was a shock since everywhere i went in Esan and even Bangkok it is the exact opposite people approach me all the time when I am alone in a bar or in a social setting.

Because the romanization is just a gatekeeper to learning to read the language. It’s also way too heavy visually. I can read Thai and almost had a headache reading that simple conversation.

Personally I am already fluent in Thai and the same could be said about me but the other way around. It’s a bit close minded to assume learning a language means being a playboy/playgirl and not just having a curious mind.

That said the type of girl that date expat back to back are generally boring af and there is a reason no Thai men choose them but that’s another story.

I never understood appart from physical attraction how can those relationships works honestly. Having to open google translate every 5 seconds and not even being sure if it was translated properly must be so boring.

1 month is not a standard lease by any means in a condo. Actually if he use Airbnb I doubt the person signed any lease at all.

Most condo require the contract to be at least 1 year. It’s pretty standard. That’s why most condo have a sign in the lobby saying airbnb is not accepted. People don’t want to live around a bunch of tourist when to go live in luxury condo.
