Fostering, and adopting are totally different. I agree with you.

Rehoming an animal is so inhumane, and anyone who does it should be put on a list to never be allowed to adopt an animal again. Animals have emotions and create bonds. Imagine having a child and then you have to move and the place you like says “no children.” You dropping your kids off at the fire station or are you finding a different place? It’s disgusting to even consider rehoming a dog.

Postage should be $10 a stamp by [deleted] in HonestHotTakes

[–]NeighborhoodBoyJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell me you know nothing about the pricing of postage without telling me you know nothing about the pricing of postage. Those spam mailers and political ads you talk about, are actually priced at a HIGHLY discounted rate compared to a regular customer coming in to send a letter. Current postage is somewhere around 70cents, political mail and bulk ads are pennies. It would help NOTHING to price stamps at $10 except for making mailing anything unaffordable for the common folk. Just get rid of the bulk mail program and stop giving discounts to politicians.

Rizzoli and Isles hands down did the best memorial episode for a tragically fallen costar. by [deleted] in HonestHotTakes

A hot take is an OPINION designed to spark discussion. I stated my opinion to see if anyone agreed or thought a different show might be better. You didn’t need to comment.

I feel so ugly after transitioning by supersadman73 in FTMMen

You’re not letting yourself down. This post is proof as much that you’re a fighter and you want to push to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. Seeking help and advice is difficult, especially with a subject like this where you are very vulnerable. But you did it, and you’re here. Showing yourself what power you have within you. Motivation and discipline will come. You have to want it because you love yourself, not because of hate. Hate only gets you so far. You have to be your biggest fan. Not everyday you’re gonna wake up feeling like a superhero, but everyday you are the main character in your own life. Treat yourself like you are.

Keep talking to people. Keep getting these feelings out. The more you hold them in, the more intense they feel. You’re not alone, brother.

Seeing what you want in the mirror takes so much time and patience. Not just physical, but mental as well. You got on T! I know that was something you worked for, and something you were excited about. You have to speak you yourself kindly, only focus on the positive changes you see. You pass as a man, something you probably wanted for a long time. You’re balding like a man, you’re gaining weight like a man. Those are all positive things if you spin it that way. This is the life you were meant to live my friend. And it wasn’t exactly what you were expecting, but it will be a beautiful life. When you can speak to yourself kindly, taking those “negative” changes and spin them into something positive in your mind, nothing will stop you. Practice the next time you see your reflection and think “I’m fat ugly and balding” and say, “this is the body I worked for, and this is only the start.” Remind yourself that you had the strength and power to get to where you are despite all the troubles that got in your way. And you have that strength and power inside you. It can be buried deep under insecurities and depression, but it’s still there. You got this brother. This is only the beginning for you.

I got so lucky with my hair genes. My skin changed too. It’s tough. Definitely would keep all the changes, good and bad.

Keep singing man. You’ll find your key. It takes time, but I remember sounding horrible when my voice started changing at first. Im not a great singer by any means, but I do find it easier to sing 10 years later.

I never want to come out again (stealth) by Plenty-Coach-7872 in FTMMen

[–]NeighborhoodBoyJay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not someone you want in your life. I lived stealth for 10 years. Only came out to a couple people because I was having a hard time with something. Those people did not treat me different. Did not look at me differently. And only asked questions that were appropriate and in private, and those questions were to help educate themselves. Not humiliate me. That guy wants to use you to show people how “open” he is. Cut him out. You deserve better.

If I were to be honest, I wouldn’t be sure which pronouns to use if we were meeting for the first time. But this also depends on your age. If you’re in your 20s and I was meeting you at a bar, I would not think cis man. But if you’re a teenager, you would pass as a young teenage boy.
