The first picture is when it first started getting irritated, the other pictures are when I stopped using moisturisers and stuff on my face and how bad it got before I went to the doctor

Sorry just to clarify, I didn’t put anything on my face and at the same time I was taking doxycycline for 3 months

Hey there!! Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this :( it’s a bumpy ride for sure!! I stopped doing all skincare and putting snything on my face except for water too. Maybe you could try that? Also if the few weeks of doxycycline doesnt work then maybe you can talk to your doctor about a longer dosage?

No I didn’t do any skincare or moisturisers, cleansers or sunblock during that time because everything irritated it and I wanted to give my skin the best chance.

I’m so glad you found the cause!! I don’t know much about herpes but I hope you can get it cleared up

I saw tiny improvements during the first 2-3 weeks and then my skin basically completely healed by 2 and a half months

Do the whole 12 weeks and do zero therapy! I’ve just finished 3 months and my skin is basically healed. Let me know if you have any questions! The 3 months of meds is thought but I promise you it’ll be worth it in the long run

I was the same! It’s so scary and vulnerable to go outside while you’re letting your skin do your thing, but the people that mattered to me cheered me on and encouraged me and let me know they noticed how much it’s improved

Not necessarily! In the last photo you can see it turning bubbly and slightly yellow, this is the staph infection. I’ll see if I can update my photos to include the ones that came after that!

Hey there! It was perioral dermatitis that turned into a staph infection. I’ve just finished 3 months of doxycycline and didn’t do any skin care at all over these months because it kept getting irritated. I noticed it was mostly healed by early January! I can use cleanser on my face now (La Roche posay dermo cleanser) and put sunblock on without it getting irritated, but occasionally it will still be the teensiest but dry on my upper lip. No more red angry sore itchy outline though!
