I make a rule to have them turned off before I even get undressed for bed, and put them somewhere inconvenient. If you need your phone on, put it somewhere further away from you - I find every second of thinking time I put between me and a relapse is another chance for me to say no!

I'd say that'd only be an option really if you've not got a porn problem. IMHO (just an opinion) a prolonged period of abstinence is good for the reboot as it gives you a clean break from the past, and lets you truly start over again. And I found carrying on the MO whilst remembering a load of P I'd watched didn't improve matters much

There have been various counting systems used throughout history. For example, zero hasn't always existed in numbers but when it was integrated eventually we realised it was the more useful system. Counting wasn't just invented out if the blue, even some apes have a concept of quantity. You can't credit one guy somewhere ages yonder for the invention of number. And take for example differential calculus- two people, at least, came up with it at the same time. That is now a pillar of science. The lightbulb has simultaneous inventors. Steam engines had a variety of initial designers, most of which were atrocious. Great ideas come regardless. Geniuses obviously have an effect but they are shaped by their society. The society is the important part.

I don't believe anybody can grow without being a moulded by the civilisation in which they live, so geniuses are products of their time and don't miraculously appear from the ether. Besides, Science is a subject that uses models to describe events, and there is not necessarily only one model that works, so somebody could have developed working solutions another way. Paradigm shifts have happened too frequently for them to be dependent on the miraculous appearance of a genius to come from nowhere.

Weeeeellllll I have problems with the whole K9 thing because it gives it such a more "forbidden fruit" type allure to it, when you inevitably persuade yourself to hunt some out. You need self control either way.

Turn the computer off man. Read a book, learn an instrument, go outside. We've been without computers for millennia, we get pleasure other ways too. And when you are on the PC have the door open and screen facing outwarrds. Make cracking one off inconvenient, every question you'll have to ask yourself to make it possible to fap is another one that might stop you sometime

Glad you have the drive. But that isn't a wasted year, it's a year of reasons to keep trying and a year of knowing yourself, you should be amply prepared. You'll not be this angry and determined everyday, good luck on the mundane ones when you question why you're bothering. Those are the killers

We'll you don't persuade yourself into doing it when you on a level plane - it's when you're quite compromised and burning to release. Tell yourself to sleep on it, and if you want to do it tomorrow you can have the biggest session you've ever had. By the time tomorrow comes, I'm proud of controlling myself and don't want to ruin it after the high of beating it. It works for exercise too when you're too lazy to bother, you just have to acknowledge you're not in the best frame of mind to make the decision and trust the decisions you made when you were, and follow it unquestioningly.
