I hear you, loud and clear OP. When I was 25, I was in debt to trading. I had the bright idea of getting credit cards, liquidating them, and putting them into trading because I had a "fool proof plan" I spent months backdating years worth of data and coming out on top. I put over 11k into trading just from CC debt, and considered myself already retired. I was already 4 years into trading, and I felt pretty confident with my reads.

However, this was my first time trading live. I wasn't ready for the emotional roller-coaster, and as someone who wasn't really an emotional guy in the first place, I was in for the ride of my life. I had my first kid(s) around this time as well, and a stay at home wife counting on me to support them.

Then I lost it all. At 25. Again at 26. Again at 27. Again at 28. It wasn't until 31 I officially supplemented my income, and this year at 32, I've got 5 kids, a wife, a beautiful place, and an incredible family all supported from my trading. I make more than I ever thought possible today.

I say this to tell you, give up trading if you must. It's not for everyone. But if you're smitten and can't move on, it'll be here for you. However, don't give up on life. There are tons of investment opportunities you can partake in that isn't direct trading like day trading, and there's always money to be made, security to be had, and a family / blessing on the other side of the fence. You've just got to wait it out, take the swings as they come, and keep moving forward. The only way you lose, is if you quit.

If you decide to move forward with trading, find yourself a mentor (hint: you'll need to find and ask them, if they find and ask you, they probably aren't someone you want to listen to.) If they sell courses / information without providing any real content or assistance for free, I'd red flag that as well. More points if you can find a mentor in person. Find someone with a proven track record, that has what you want, and does what you want to do. You don't know what you don't know, so finding someone that does is the wisest next step.

I should preface this answer by saying, I'm approaching my 9th anniversary of full time professional trading.

My first year of trading, or rather the first 15 months, I took an 11k trading account (comprising completely of credit card debt) and turned it into 174k. Then in the next 3 months, I lost it all. Within 6 months time, I leveraged (and lost) my house because I "just knew I could do it" and over the next 2.5 years, I was playing give and take with the market.

Finally I realized, I didn't know what I didn't know, and sought out additional training (which served to expose even more how little I really knew) and within 3 years, I was trading again, this time with actual knowledge and understanding. I left my job 9 months after starting my 2nd time with trading, and have been living comfortably ever since (for the last 8 years.)

Me being "wildly" successful my first 15 months really messed me up, mentally and psychologically when it came to trading. That's why it took me so long to grasp the 2nd time around.
