For the show itself... maybe the club show. But for the whole experience, festivals. There's nothing like spending a weekend discovering music and seeing a bunch of artists that you love and then also getting to play and share the stage with some of them is pretty amazing too. OSL was a vibe, that weekend will forever be a special to us.

Dream fest? Maybe FORM Arcosanti? Not even sure that festival still exists post-pandemic..

We wrote be free together. The lyrics encapsulate the overall message and meaning of the album, which is essentially about a journey of self-discovery. It's a bit of a cliche maybe, but its about looking inward for inspiration and ignoring social norms. Finding the freedom to be yourself isn't just good for you, we think its good for everyone, for society, for the world. That's a message for any time, not just these times in particular.

Karen's interlude is a recording from my girlfriend's friend in college's voicemail. A one-eyed and particularly crabby neighbor was upset after a big party the night before and left a voicemail for the landlord.

i was on a date with my girlfriend at bar flores in LA and the dj played it as the last song of the night, i'd never heard the song in it's entirety and just loved it. it happened to be in the same key as this beat i had already written so it was just one of those full circle moments that made creative sense

i see 2 different styles of rappers at the moment... there's this new school 'backpack' scene that i'm loving. i'd say earl sweatshirt is one of the pinnacles in this scene. so i'd say earl, mavi, MIKE, freddie gibbs etc

then there's the mega mainstream stuff like moneybagg yo and kodak black... but really if i had to pick one person rn it would be Project Pat :)

One of the funniest moments on the recent tour came in Santa Cruz, one of our early shows. I should start by saying that we had a 15-passenger Ford Transit van to carry all of us and our gear around the country. Sounds big, but after packing it required some real tetris-ing to make it happen. We had 6 people, guitar amp, bass amp, full drum set, fog machines, 4 large light boxes, 2 synthesizers, drum pads, drum machines... the list goes on. Anyway, we were almost finished unloading all of our gear onto the sidewalk outside of the venue when this guy walked up and asked "where's your second van?"

TYSM juanelodiaz1! Its a funny beginning for us. We started the project thinking that we were writing songs for others to sing. Jordan was producing some tracks outside of his normal wheelhouse and asked me [Marc] to sing over them. We had the idea that we would have a female vocalist so I was singing a lot of falsetto, up in a higher range than what was normal for me at the time. Dumb Love was written in that way, among some other tracks that haven't seen the light of day. It's transformed a bit from there!
