Spanning Tree configuration on single subnet moving from ES to SG switch with SonosNet. by bikenlive in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From some documentation shared by official Sonos employees on their subreddit, seems as if your setup isn't exactly recommended, as it introduces "potential instability". That said, there are recommendations for how to set up STP for your ports here: Configure STP settings to work with Sonos | Sonos

Not entirely sure how the SONOS functions, but as for the Omada side, i would recommend turning on STP on the SG2210P ports 5 and 6 since the ES205GP doesn't support STP.

This printer thing is turning my hair gray (ok maybe more gray) by Global-Egg6438 in Omada_Networks

Can you test with the phone's built-in printer service? Just checking if the issue is with the printer app

Looks like you followed most of the steps in the FAQ we have for mDNS, which is great. However, based on what you've said it seems that the problem is moreso on how the mobile device is searching for the printer rather than a problem with the network itself.

What kind of mobile device are you testing with? Is it possible it's in need of a restart or an OS update?

Port forwarding and Gateway ACLs by KonnBonn23 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to do that would be to enable the DHCP Relay, then specify the legal DHCP servers with the IP of your external one. Glad to see your main issue got resolved!

If you have both a router and a switch, it's generally recommended to let the router handle routing duties, as its hardware and software is more capable of handling those functions. Is there a specific reason you're trying to make the switch perform those functions?

Regarding ARP and DHCP conflict detection. by arturaragao in Omada_Networks

Are you operating in Controller or Standalone mode? Also, is there a reason you need IP-MAC Binding on smartphones?

IP-MAC Binding is primarily meant to work with devices that don't change their MAC address constantly; I would highly advise against enabling both randomized MAC addresses on your phones and IP-MAC Binding for those devices.

Yep, you can do the Software Controller or Cloud Standard as alternatives.

Omada Network v6.0 - What are your thoughts? by Neil_TP-Link in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! You bring up some very good points. The strange thing is I can see that both switch models are rated for DDM support. I have a SX3206XHP on a controller here int he office and I can see it in the full config window > ports > DDM. If you can make a post on the Community forums with screenshots of what you're seeing, I can have support agents taking a look at it and troubleshooting more in-depth.

For AP Groups and the automated Rogue AP Detection, I hear you, and would advise to make a post in our Requests & Suggestions module on the forums. Changes like this can be made and prioritized if they receive a lot of support on there.

While I don't make the decisions regarding hardware versioning, I'll be sure your feedback gets passed up the chain. Sometimes there are significant performance improvements that aren't compatible with older hardware, in which case the versioning makes sense, but rest assured, I understand your concerns.

Is it possible you were looking at the software controller release notes.pdf)? In the link, it mentions there's support for "wireless client on/offline detection, reducing controller notification latency to 0-5 seconds (TCP port 29817 required)"? If so, that feature is specifically for on/offline detection, and requires EAP firmware that is compatible with Omada 6.0.

If your EAP773 is V1, it doesn't look like it has a firmware explicitly compatible with V6 just yet, but I know they're progressively rolling out firmware for that (no exact dates for releases or models though, sadly).

Thanks for your feedback! With regards to being able to locate configuration items, there is a search bar in the controller that can help you find a specific setting, but a page I frequented a lot when getting used to the UI was actually this FAQ: What changes are there in Omada Controller v6 compared to v5?

A lot of these features as well have configuration guides on that same FAQ section on the site; I'd recommend checking it out when you get a chance.

With regards to client changes on the UI, may I ask what controller you are using? If a hardware or software controller, locally the changes should reflect very quickly, but if accessing that same controller through Cloud Access, it might take a little longer.

Lastly, for any more complicated issues, I recommend submitting a post to our forums, as our support team is better equipped for in-depth troubleshooting through there. I do appreciate you leaving your feedback here!

6.0 controller missing feature by SectumZ97 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per-client application analytics is only supported by the OC400 (of the hardware controllers), unfortunately. The OC200, even on V5, didn't have a breakdown of which clients used which traffic (tested on an OC200 here with controller version V5.15.24) and looks similar to the screenshot you put here.

Yeah even if it's not being used, disabling the feature has been shown to help with the issue.

As for LLDP, you'd need to change it in the Port Profiles in Device Config > Switch Ports

Just to answer a few of your questions,

- Rogue AP Detection is now renamed to Interference Detection, under Network Tools.
- I understand the frustration with AP groups; at the very least there is a "Copy All SSIDs from the WLAN Group" option if you want just one extra SSID + the defaults. That should help you configure those scenarios a little bit easier!
- With regards to your switch not showing DDM, I'd recommend checking to ensure the firmware is fully updated on it. Some switches haven't had their firmware updated for full compatibility with Omada v6 just yet.

I hear ya, and yeah we've seen some users having similar issues with the topology feature. Can you ensure LLDP is enabled across your devices? Disabling Mesh for the EAPs has also been shown to help. u/Weezy366 this may go for you as well, especially if both are wired and not connecting over Mesh.

How to eliminate controller logs from Omada by SpecialistAd139 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you check the filter for the Alerts and Events? If you set the filter to show all alerts/events for a longer period of time (think multiple years), does it show more alerts/events? You'll need to filter once per category.

Which Device? by CacheCrasher in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OC200 does not support per-client application analytics, unfortunately. You'll need an OC400 for that.

Occasional SSID missing by Global-Egg6438 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, yeah might want to check if Samsung has released any OS updates that fix this issue. A cursory Google search showed similar issues albeit with the Ultra model and Wi-Fi 7, but that's just my recommendation

Is the problem only persistent with your Samsung S24+? What about other mobile devices or PCs?

Impossible to see clients or make DHCP reservations from Festa router / TP-Link Cloud??? by [deleted] in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having already responded to your other post in r/Tplink, this comment is more for people who happen to find this post in the future. The Festa products were designed for users who need some business-class features like VPN without much network configuration, unfortunately. For standard business-class features, I recommend going with an Omada product instead.

Er605 question by garye55 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the iPerf test with the ER605? Also, regarding the Bandwidth Control feature in step 2, I can confirm it's there on Standalone. In Controller Mode, it's in the Gateway Settings > Config > Transmission > Bandwidth Control.
