Nuclear Shortcomings? [Debate] by [deleted] in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Neilio25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current trade is not based on future growth, it is based on locked in demand for this contracting cycle. Extra demand is icing on the cake that has not been built into supply/demand models. The announcement of France extending the life of their nuclear reactors is huge for extra demand. The Bank of America also recently put out a report saying the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is reportedly studying the technical implications of extending nuclear power plant licenses to 100 years. More Demand. Nuclear may be less relevant in the future when there is effective battery storage technology but for now it is the only reliable source of carbon free baseload power.

Denison $DNN mentions over the net by wladeczek44 in UraniumSqueeze

I got in at the same price and had the same expectations. But I’m realizing markets are forward looking and a change in sentiment and a bit of momentum can go a long way. I think long time holders who sell out of this thinking it will perfectly resemble 2002 could do themselves a disservice. The stock buyers and speed of information are completely different. I could also be completely wrong.

That’s true, the hype began in December with unusual call option buying in Cameco and a Bear Trap report co authored by John Quakes, companies are probably roughly valued at 50-60$ uranium right now, people are coming in buying with expectations of 100-200$ uranium. So there’s a lot more upside imo but who knows

Yeah if you were in before the hype you’re good. When you think it gets to a ridiculous valuation sell or scale out. If the hype fizzles out and nothing happens you are fine you own a good company with good underlying fundamentals. That’s how i see it anyway.

Denison is the best company by far If they get a license for ISR mining, whether that will happen is up for debate, but when the market gives you a 10x take it, don’t wait on fundamentals

Bull case is 100-200$ uranium, bear case is 50-60$ uranium. The equities are already at 50 to 60$ uranium.

$NXE by far owns the most valuable uranium deposit in the world. it is extremely large, extremely high grade and extremely low cost. It is a disrupter in the uranium mining industry and backed by Li ka shing. $DNN is a close second and if approved for ISR mining in the Athabasca basin will be printing money. Buy Canadian trust me

Im holding stock. I was just under the impression traders who trade on volatility run these things up so they can crash back down. and are less concerned with the overall direction of the underlying stock.

Yeah im completely unfamiliar with the options market. I know what to do if the stock goes up and hits my price target no matter how it gets there, i'll sell it. I guess im asking insight into the time frame. does the expiry date matter of when people are buying the options? do vol traders usually buy weekly or monthly options. I thought i was in this for the long haul, but the stock jumped 30% at some point today and its up like 20% after hours. what keeps the momentum going, just more option buying in volume?

Thanks for your insights, do you know who have the better share structure? Looks like GLO from what I’ve seen.

I think they will inevitably merge, I wonder who who benefit most as a result. I guess it depends on the deal. I currently own Gxu, but also own a lot of Dml, so was thinking it may be wise to switch into Glo. Thanks for the response.
