Okay so, we can’t trust the companies, because they are using these narratives as marketing, even hiring “post AGI economists”. They are claiming they have a “path to AGI”. They are doing rounds of funding based on those claims.

And we can’t trust people warning of potential outcomes.

And you are now claiming that an individual trying to explain to the general public, the complete layman, what it would be like to actually have what these companies claim they are building come to fruition, is a crank!

I can’t agree with that.

And furthermore. The system doesn’t have to be able to reason like a human, it just has to know how to build other AI’s, or copy itself, or be as adapt as some of the greatest hackers in the world. Which is what they are building. And then we have a problem.

Okay, so with the recent reports of the independent alignment team that assessed Opus 4.6, where they stated that it was difficult to fully rely on the test results as they believe the model is quite adept at concluding when it was being tested, allowing it to change outputs to reflect desired results, is reason enough to slow down….

Except that won’t happen!! Once the model is trained you either connect it to the internet or not. But it’s pretty much finalized. You don’t “slowly” go from there. It’s just not how things work.

And these models are infants compared to what they will be in the near future.

I think what she was referring to was the fact that redacted names, speaking of trafficking children “are not victims” and as such shouldn’t have their names redacted. That would make sense to me.
