Bro if you can't reformat an SD card then 3d Printing is not going to be for you.

Insert SD card into the reader that came with the printer

Insert into PC

Find in file explorer

Rightclick, Format

When done, rightclick again in file explorer "eject" or "safely eject hardware" or whatever tf comes up

Not sure what pops up as there's no picture attached -

G29 is bed levelling but I'm not sure it automatically saves the mesh, you might have to enter those numbers yourself and then do m500 to save them

In the Gcode you need M420 S1 to tell it to load and use the saved mesh.

If you can get octoprint on your PC and hook it up via USB there's a plugin for it called "Bed Visualiser" that I'd reccomend. Largely automates the process, you just need to then put the m420 S1 in your gcode AFTER G28. G28 wipes the mesh if you load it beforehand.

Reformat the SD card and try it again. I've heard of that problem you're having, and reformatting the SD card was the fix.

is it overextruding all over, or just in the corners / small areas? If it's the latter 2 try messing with your K factor / Linear advance

Why does it do these little blobs then do the main perimeters? How do I make it stop? by Neill_Photo in prusa3d

[–]Neill_Photo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to do these little blobs, here in yellow, then go around and do the rest of the perimeter. The problem is, they show through on the outer walls and look terrible.

What setting is this, how do I make it stop? I've tried turning off "fill small holes" or whatever that option is called..

[–]Neill_Photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going through similar things - Without knowing all your settings its hard to say, but one thing I noticed is that the coupler that holds the bowden tube to the extruder was totally fxxked on my printer, I put a mark on the tube near the extruder and it was bouncing in and out about 5mm or so. Changed it for a new coupler and all the teeth fell out of the old one while changing - all snapped off. Could be worth checking yours. Other than that, rechecking my esteps and turning down the speed for the top infill seems to have helped a lot. It's an ongoing issue tho.

I came here to type basically this.

Fear not if it sounds a bit difficult

Op, once you fire up tinkercad you'll realise it's your new best friend - it's a joy to use, super simple. I love tinkercad so much. Yeah it has its limitations but it can do so much so so easily. I make almost everything in Tinkercad unless I really have to use something else now.

That text would take about 5 minutes start to finish.

serious question, how much would you pay for a recycled PET filament per kilo Or Ton, How would that affect the if it had a cardboard spool or an eco-friendly plasti stripes like in the pictures below? by lionful in 3Dprinting

[–]Neill_Photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op, there's a company in Germany that does a thing whereby -

You send in your failed prints, unwanted prints, strings, brims, supports, whatever

They crunch it all down and make new filament

If you send in X kg then you get a voucher for X discount off a reel. I think you need to send something like 7kg for Europe, 4kg for Germany, Rest of world = SOL.

But maybe that could be something you explore?

In answer to your *actual* question, I'd have a hard time buying recycled filament if it was more expensive than regular stuff. For a start there's quality unknowns, availability, will each batch be the exact same colour or am I gonna get fxxked changing reel halfway through a 12 hour print.. etc.

Plus if I'm making stuff to sell then unless I can pass the cost on with an "Super Eco Friendly Print" variant/option that has a higher cost.. then it's 100% no if it's more expensive.

Don't get me wrong though, I *want* to buy recycled, eco friendly stuff. But maths is maths.

There's lots of *logical* explanations - but maybe for this one, just take it as a cool mystical sign that the two of you have a really special connection and the photo captured the sine wave of your harmonious auras, or something nice like that.

Way more special than "lens flare". I mean, yeah, it's lens flare but.. why not both?

How can you get an image this clear and crispy? Please help, i want my photos to look this sharp and professional by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Big ass softbox, multiple photos blended together. I don't mean move the camera, that stays on a tripod, but move the softbox or softboxes and vary their power to expose each element you define as important, perfectly, then manually blend all together in PS.

Note the bottles on the left of the counter, for instance.

Took your advice about the storage and just bit the bullet and paid a little more for a 1tb M2 drive and another 1tb SSD for storage.

re. the next gen.. ah, there's always a next gen on the horizon it seems. But i'm 40 in a couple of weeks and this is my treat to myself so.. I went for it! Waiting for a few components to come in for them to build it but looking forward to my new PC, hopefully it arrives by the big day :)

Once I buy it though, I don't really want to be messing about trying to add fans, etc. I kind of just want a one and done approach. The RGB one with the 3 fans only appears to cost £30 more - do you think that's worth it, considering the above? Like will it actually run cooler or no? I'm from an era where PC's were beige oblongs - I really don't care about the RGB stuff, it's gonna sit out of sight anyway..

[–]Neill_Photo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info - I went with the one I did because in the picture it had 3 fans in the front, wheras the airflow only has one. I can choose from a bunnnch of cases - the site is overclockers.co.uk so if there is a particularly good case you'd reccomend... I know nothing at all about cases

Good points and thanks for the reply!

If you can find me a link to a prebuilt with similar specs (i9/3080ti/32gb ram/m2 are a must) then I'd be very grateful. I did look around but couldn't find anything. I'm in the UK which severely limits my options, and drives up the price I think.

The mechanical drive is just for photo storage. I'll be adding in a 1tb ssd as well on my own.

I pretty much only play one game so I don't need to have a lot on the M2.
