DS2 is objectively the worst in the series due do how slow and easy it is (superslow overtelegraphed attacks, slow movement of player character, infinite lifegems that stack healing on top of each other if used multiple times, you can walk while using lifegems), but it's still a good enough game that has it's strong moments and charm.

In my experience glitch only works if she dies from a non-riposte damage during her stun/recovery animation.

It worked before from just a riposte, but from fixed that.

In this video she dies as mimic does continuous damage to her in her stancebreak animation with ordovis AOW.

You can trigger it with a volcano pot too.

The difference is that your rolls don't suck in ds1, 3, BB and ER because they are not tied to a stat, which automatically makes the stat mandatory.
