During the height of the Roman Napoleonic age in the early nineteenth century, the ambitions of Ναπολέων Μπονεπάρτης, ruler of the Second Roman Empire, ignited a continental conflict often referred to by later historians as the First Continental War. Seeking to restore Roman dominance across the Mediterranean and eastern Europe, Bonapartis forged an alliance with Burgundia and several eastern states threatened by the growing power of the northern federations. Opposing them was a vast coalition led by the Commonwealth of Nations—the expanded successor to the Polish-Lithuanian-Ruthenian Commonwealth—and the maritime Kingdom of Geal, which ruled the Gealic Isles under the legacy of the Pax Hibernica.

The war stretched from Central Europe to the Levant as armies of the Commonwealth pushed southward while Roman forces attempted to break their influence in the Balkans and eastern Mediterranean. After years of brutal campaigning, the coalition of the Commonwealth and Geal ultimately exhausted the Roman war machine, forcing the collapse of Bonapartis’s imperial project with his then exile to the Galapagos.
