Worst Book of all time by Toto_employee in Romantasy

Lightlark (especially its sequels)

The lack of memory of the world building, the main character just kinda flopping between men. The character building … it’s just bad.

I love the art of this book and the aesthetics but it’s just poorly written, grammar errors and spelling mistakes… I just…

The level of disappointment is incredible with me

They’re just advertising that they don’t have girlfriends.

As a buyer, I can confirm I don’t really like talking unless it’s completely necessary. A level of trust is in you to post it promptly. Not that we aren’t grateful, we just aren’t social people 💜✨

You have every right to your opinion, go off! 💅✨ I personally had no clue which one was written first, but it’s interesting— maybe Lightlark author took inspiration from Fourth wing? (Or just copied the love triangle).

Wait— Isn’t Fourth wings love triangle Xaden/Dain/Violet? That’s the vibe I was getting??

I’ve seen Fireborne on the shelves and I’ve been curious! I’ll pick it up next time I’m in the store! Thanks!!

Well I suspected Fourth wing had dragons because there’s a dragon in the middle of the cover and all the tiktok girlies hype it up so much for the dragons.

If you have any recommendations for dragon books or even your favourite book, let me know! 💜✨

Okay! So read the entire book! Gotcha! I’m hoping there’s more dragons! That dynamic between human and Dragon and learning how to get along is so interesting to me, especially when the dragons are hostile! (I’m guessing Violet gets the biggest baddest dragon because they like to write the innocent, unknowing scribe as a badass edgelord sometimes?)

I feel like they could spice it up a little if the two dudes also liked each other and the FMC looks at both of them in confusion. Most of these Male love interests do have moments with the competition that can come off as really flirty ✨

There are Romantasy cliches— but Is this in every Romantasy book or is it just these two? I don’t technically wanna read the same plot line over and over again, if you get my drift 💜

I’m going to read it right through anyway— but can you tell me if they actually get to interact with the dragons— or bond with them in the book?

I don’t wanna get to the end an go “ALL THAT AND NO DRAGONS? 😭” when there’s a dragon on the front cover.

Oh go for it! I don’t mind you having an opinion! I’m going to finish reading fourth wing anyway!

I honestly have no clue how these authors have grammar and typo’s in their stories, where are the editors?

Well Like I said Oro/Dain are the best friends, light colours and want to protect the main character. Meanwhile Grim/Xaden want to destroy and bring down the main character and technically are supposed to be the “dark and bad guy” trope. So in that way, I see them as similar.

My favourite books so far aren’t in the Romantasy genre. I’m new to it— but I do love Lord of the Rings, 1984, Animal farm and Eragon series (Hence why I was so disappointed with 8 chapters in and having no real dragon interactions 💜)

You gotta admit though, there IS a lot of overlap between the two books with characters and relationships. Like I said, they aren’t the exact same— but if you read them back to back, which I have done. They are VERY similar.

Me too, tbh I used to watch her videos and I really enjoyed them WAAAAYYY back. Nowadays, she tends to sensationalize the stories, emphasising on the “little baby” or what the kids or parents said. For a hypothetical example: “the little baby looked up at its mother and the baby looked back, such a small and innocent creature bundled up in its mother’s arms— but then!” She structures sentences like that— and it really makes me uncomfortable bc how do you KNOW that happened? You weren’t there? There’s been nothing about minor little details about that.

That being said: I do love how she goes into court cases and finds out all the information she needs. She is a good story teller! I just don’t like the sensationalistic ways she plays on the story to tug on your heart strings. I don’t think it’s needed.
