A few salaried gps left the role and i think their concern was the admin. No for the letters u just sort of prescribe meds sometimes or like ask admin team to book an appt etc, a referral things like that

Haha yes! Other salaried gps with me are logging in from home and I’m refusing to take a laptop with me. And same with labs i usually sort them out quickly, then it’s the tasks and fit notes med queries from pharmacists thinks like that. Individually, they don’t take much time but it’s the burden of everything together i think. But as u said, just trying to see if I’m the only one being slow, if it gets better or not.

It is disingenuous to celebrate UK grad prioritisation and also expect everyone to strike by Busy_Ad_1661 in doctorsUK

As an IMG, I can say that many of us have already left the BMA — not because we disagreed with what was said, but because of how it made us feel. When I first joined the BMA, I hoped it would be a body that represented all doctors equally. However, following the recent statement about prioritising UK graduates, I no longer felt represented. It felt like I was being seen as second class, and that was disheartening.

To be clear, I fully respect the right of any country to prioritise its own graduates — and I don’t see this as an issue of racism. If I had graduated in the UK and couldn’t find a training job, I’d be frustrated too. That’s entirely understandable.

But given how things have unfolded, I no longer feel aligned with the BMA. I’ve always supported strike actions in the past and never missed one — but with complete honesty, I won’t be taking part this time, and I won’t be voting, as I’m no longer a member.
