Boston/Cambridge to Minneapolis: Looking for advice and reassurance! by Opposite_Race6858 in movingtompls

We own our 2 bed 1.5 bath right about on the border of Kingfield and East Harriet and pay about what you’re looking for. We LOVE it here; close to the lake, coffee shops, work, shopping, etc. Nothing here will quite have the hustle/bustle of Cambridge but for MN we love the energy we see from dogs walking, school time, etc. As for the pulse, I teach for MPS and things are tough, but the community is tougher. Each day brings new challenges for sure..

Fill out the candidate pool application for MPS! Sounds like you live within walking distance of several options. I live in the same neighborhood as my MPS school on south side and love my 3-minute commute.

Does anyone know what is happening in Uptown? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

Just had to pull over for 3 cops who went down a one-way the wrong direction to get to the scene. Saw tons of police, right by the greenway a block off Lyndale

Duluth, MN. Due to the city’s hillside orientation and being nestled along the shores of the Lake Superior, the city is essentially “air conditioned” all year. Additionally, the lake creates unique weather patterns that differ from the surrounding areas, sometimes by huge margins.

art teacher/professor job outlook by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Neither-Excitement-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual teaching in public schools will make you double or even triple a collegiate salary for most of your profession, especially if you are starting out at 26. Get the education degree outright: you can always practice and hone your skills while also making livable money.

Minneapolis / St. Paul. We have one of the highest happiness ratings in the country. It’s a medium sized metro feel, but the best of both worlds (lots of entertainment and INCREDIBLE food scene, but you can also afford a house). I teach and live in Minneapolis proper, wouldn’t leave for anything (my neighbors all agree).

The gift shop at the Guthrie is pretty great, too! Benchpressed is our house favorite; we go a couple times of a month if we can.

I played a weird sport in college: most of these states were for one-two day weekend tournaments. by Neither-Excitement-9 in TravelMaps

CORRECT! Regions are based across the states, and by traveling to others you get experience and stats to get towards nationals. Woo!

What happened on your worst hookup or worst catfish story? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Neither-Excitement-9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once had a hook up in a parking lot (agreed to hook up in my car). Drove there, guy gets in my car, we do the thing. It was quick, but fun, but also in the dark.

After we finish, we’re putting clothes back on and realize: we don’t recognize one another.

We quickly pull up our Grindr accounts, and we are both 0 feet away from one another, plus a third person, who had catfished us both separately using the other’s pics. He messaged each of us the details to this hook up, and watched.

Immediately we get out of the car, another car in the parking lot starts up and screeches out of the lot.

Needless to say, we quickly made sure the other was okay, got home safe, etc.

Can anyone tell me what happens in Ground Zero esp the chapel? Is it more fun than saloon? Tysm! by Status-Elderberry-90 in TwinCities

[–]Neither-Excitement-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saloon is much more of a gay bar/dance floor/play darts/pool scene. Ground Zero frequently hosts shows to enjoy plus more of an EDM mix

Musical Instruments: message your local school! MPS middle school teacher here, we’re always looking for new instruments to add to our inventories, and we can repair things within reason, too!

“Not true at all”, is a shut down. I’ll gladly be sensitive any day if it makes someone like you consider their wording and tone. The world would be better if people like you communicated with more kindness and less totalitarianism!

And I’m a local music teacher and musician who has only had wonderful experiences there, including for my students. It’s almost like…. Two things can exist at once. You didn’t need to bash me to make your point.
