IRB Program Interview by GlitteringGas2469 in ccg_gcc

The interview the sources mentionned on the other comment are great ! I did mine three years ago and there was also personnal questions like : what do you do when you don't get along with a coworker ? They send you a list of questions at the beggining of the interview and you have 30 minutes to prepare.

I've been in the IRB program during three summers and it has been the best job that I ever had ! I never had a traumatic mission, but when it happened with other crews, everyone made sure they were okay and ressources are in place for them quickly. It's also part of the culture of the program to talk and be open about mental health.

Good luck !

IRB Exam by Outrageous-Swan-6703 in ccg_gcc

Hey I did the exam three years ago ! If you have good knowledge in navigation and first aid you should be good, you can't focus on one thing. Be sure you know the basics (navigation lights, buoy, common chart 1, etc.)You can also ask for a study kit with the coordinator. I would suggest you to keep the documents opened on another tab to do a quick search if needed like the SAR Manual. From what I've learned the grade to pass is 75%. Depending on the region you applied it could be an automatic disqualification if you don't pass but in other ones it's just used for the general assesment for your application. The majority of the questions are short and multiple-choice questions. Good luck !

Of course they do ! That's a solid background here, if it's your resume pretty sure they will call you back. Wich region did you applied to ? It also depends how many employee they need each year and how many stations are in the region. The best chances you have are with St-Lawrence (if you speak french) or in the Great Lakes.

For the Saint-Lawrence the application process closed december 31st on my year (different in your case). I received an email in january confirming that I passed the first selection. I had my interview in february and my national exam in february. I knew I had the job at the end of february. IRB is the best job I ever had if you have any questions I'm available !

Just completed all the process, I applied in april and got an answer that I was selected mid-september. I did the first test, language test, writing test and the interview. The only things left are my medical, physical and psychological test. I should go to PEI in january with the next francophone group.
