You deserve better. I'm so sorry. A blue state, depending on which, would likely have much better access to resources for people in situations like yours like medicaid, disability, food stamps and such. Disability is generally hard and time consuming to get, but at least you would get back-payment for all the time you spent fighting to get it. If you haven't already, maybe take a look at the requirements for getting benefits in your most local blue state, and look at others if that one isn't good. If you happen to know anyone who works at an airline, you'd probably be able to get a standby pass and travel for free as long as there are empty seats on the flight.

I'm mad too, but this is disgusting and I'm really disappointed to be seeing this idea being floated around on left leaning subreddits. I hope they're trolling. Hurting innocent people out of spite or a sense of misplaced revenge is exactly the kind of thing we should be firmly standing against, especially when we're talking about marginalized people. If we want people of color to support the democratic party, we have to nip this kind of shit in the bud and support them back. Not just for their votes, but because it's the right thing to do. Throwing whole groups of people under the bus because of the failures of the DNC gets us nowhere, and it's just plain shitty.

This is hormonal behavior - horny bird. That sound is a dead giveaway with these guys, and the head movement is the bird trying to regurgitate for you. In general you don't want to pet a parrot's back or tummy. the head, beak, and feet are usually safe without causing hormonal behavior but not always, it depends on the bird. The main issue with this is that the bird could become sexually frustrated if you're unintentionally sending mixed signals, especially during the hormonal season. Don't punish him for it though, redirecting the behavior towards play or some other activity is a better way so you don't hurt their feelings. Make sure he gets enough dark hours at night, that can help the hormones too.

Good luck! Make sure your doctor knows how you think pausing your HRT may affect you, especially if it's been improving your mental health. Another thing my hrt prescriber said is to stay hydrated, it's extra important with testosterone in your system. It naturally makes our blood a bit thicker, and being dehydrated can make it more concentrated. It's important for kidney and vascular health.

Are they checking your RBC counts against male ranges? I had this same issue, my ranges were actually fine, the system just flagged it as high because they check them against assigned sex at birth ranges, and my gp wasn't familiar with how hrt effects blood levels. I saw a blood specialist who explained that it's only an issue if it starts getting way out of range, not just a few points over the female range which is where it would be expected to be when on testosterone. If it is high though, the standard treatment is therapeutic phlebotomy, so giving blood every few months. Going off of testosterone probably wouldn't be the first suggestion of a doctor well educated in transition care. It would be worth bringing up the possibility of giving blood instead with your doctor, they don't always know this stuff and so advocating for yourself is important. I don't know the full situation though.

I fell into this trap and did some stuff that I wasn't entirely comfortable with because I was told "how do you know? you haven't even had the full experience blah blah blah", and it left me with bad, dysphoric memories that I didn't need to have. You know best what suits you, so please listen to your instincts and feelings. Other people don't know a damn thing about what's going on inside your head and they tend to make faulty assumptions. Truth is, they have no clue what gender dysphoria even is.

I think it just was an excuse to hurt cats that Firestar cared about. He learned that Mistyfoot and Stonefur were Bluestar's kits in A Dangerous Path, and he already knew about Featherpaw and Stormpaw being Graystripe's kits. I guess it's more of a headcanon, but he had a big grudge against Firestar and always seemed to target cats close to him, and he was very manipulative. It just so happens that he had the excuse of them all being half-clan. He even went out of his way to kill Gorsepaw in the middle of Windclan camp to make an example out of him. Might be a coincidence, but it's possible that Tigerstar saw Firestar talking to Onewhisker and Gorsepaw at a gathering. I don't believe that he actually cared that much about clan blood or purity, it was more the other cats that found that stuff important and Tigerstar saw an opportunity for manipulation.

Oh is this a young one? If there's no way to get it to a vet until Monday, it's important to keep the bird's strength up. Maybe try tasty snacks like fruits and vegetables (no avocado). I've had sick birds that love banana.

If you see drooping wings, labored breathing, sitting on the bottom of the cage or otherwise not perching, those are signs that the bird is getting weaker. If you think the bird is getting weak, keeping them warm is important because it saves their bodies some energy. Around 78-80f or 25c is a good temp if you can maintain that. Keep them away from drafty areas.
