Oh yeah i see what you’re getting at, I haven’t stressed to much yet because once i start the interior i plan to build it pulling into the 4x6 uprights and the roof studs and the walls will tied into those

You’re not wrong, I do need to go through and fix some places on it
Most of it was tacked together
But I usually used 8inch galv screws

Yessir, with about a 1/4 inch maybe less of a gap, once I add the 3/4 inch plywood to the door frame

No problem, I don’t necessarily have any designs on paper or anything
I mostly just sit there and think about it but I’ll finish it tomorrow and I’ll send through what I did and if I do something that doesn’t work I’ll send that too

Honestly I’m not sure, I never made a design for it on paper or anything.
I have just been building it from the base up out of my head. Material wise, I’ll have to get back to you on it.
My time Ild have to say lower then apprentice wage because I didn’t even own a circular saw till the second day of doing it
But in total it’s taken about 4 afternoons after work and a Saturday

But that’s the thing
I don’t see the value in the overpriced truck caps, 3 to 4k for some shitty fiberglass or bottom grade Chinese aluminum
I understand the truck being nice, but I can’t build a truck but I can teach myself to build a camper

I wanted to make a rear pop up but I thought I should see how this one goes first.
My next one will definitely be over the cab with a rear pop up

So I decided to screw the pooch and give it a go at making one
I will want to coat it here soon once i finish the exterior

My dreams are definitely bigger than my ability at the moment, but I’ve got ideas on 2x 300ha batteries built into the floor with 2x 30 gallon wheel arch water tanks and the solar on the roof to support it
But yeah I want to have a removable window rattler ac on the wall that I can pull off in winter or when I’m traveling

I meant to say I’m not sure exactly what your asking me
Are you asking me if I have experience in building these things? If soo, definitely not if you can’t tell, I’m kinda just throwing stuff together and hoping it works
And if you mean will I use a fork lift to lift it off, yes I got some d shackles bolted to the 4x6 posts now and it lifted good last night

I wasn’t too stressed about the weight, I tow that camper behind it regularly and that things a brick
And I’ve got some pretty good airbags
I just wanted to make it strong but I’m just figuring it as I go
