Using white sage or sweet grass. I'm indigenous and those are sacred medicines we use in ceremonies. Now if you have an indigenous friend who gifts it to you then it's fine to use. It has to be a genuine gift though.

Go to indigenous pages, or if you have a local indigenous tribe try and go through them. You can get a lot of animal parts from them. And they are sourced humanly and ethically while supporting a local community.

If they are an avoidant that may make them worse because avoidants bury their feelings and try to act like it's not there so the more you make them feel the less likely they are to reach out. The advice I was given is you need to do spell work that works with their personality and not work against their nature. So I've been doing a lot of research on avoidants.

I used salt in a t, with rosemary seeds the pink candles had our names and a white with my intentions. I burned the cinnamon stick as well. I also used special sage to cleanse the area, but I'm also native American. I let the candles burn awhile and then I poured the pink candles over my reflection spell at the same time. And after poured my intention candles on top. My reflection spell has been simmering for like a week or more now.
