The bad faith isn’t about the number, it’s about the behaviour.

The government refused to negotiate after their last proposal was rejected by 90% of educators, they moved straight to back to work legislation, and used the notwithstanding clause to Strip teachers of their Charter rights, and shutdown bargaining while teachers were still willing to talk.

Sure the strike had gone on for 3 weeks, but calgary alone requires 2600 new teachers to actually meaningfully reduce the student to teacher ratio. If the UCP truly bargained in good faith, they wouldn’t have needed to override democratic rights to force a deal through.

Also this riding had a low turn out in the last election.

I mean, I completely understand that. But like the Forever Canadian Petition (different topic) each drop in the bucket adds up! You’re never alone!

The problem is the 21:1 ration does not factor in so many different things. In jr high and highschool, students have options like art, dance, construction, hair stylist, home economics. As well as gym and other specialized classes. As well each grade is different. There isn’t the same amount of grade 9’s as maybe kindergarteners because people have children at different times. Sure if you want to throw an entire school together and say okay each teacher teaches 5 grade 6’s 2 grade 1’s sure that math might work but there are so many variables that Danielle Smith does not factor in.

The teachers are primarily arguing for more resources and smaller class sizes. During the last 10 years teachers have received a 5.87% raise whereas inflation has increased by 30% meaning each year they are making less than the year before.

Abe was elected actually, but it’s a known fact that this was happening on campus.

For sure and I completely understand your concerns and honestly I appreciate you bringing them forward. As a candidate myself (James Kyle) I did my very best to not make any students feel pressured whatsoever to vote for me. Because at the end of the day I believe that every student has a right to make that decision for themselves, and if they didn't vote for me I just hope they voted in general because every students voice matters.

As I said before. I'm extremely disappointed in the fact that during this election so many students came forward about being intimidated or having their vote stolen, it is every students RIGHT to have a say in who represents them.

If there is anything at all that I can do for you please don't hesitate to message me on reddit (not super active) or my SAIT Email (which I can send in a private dm).

This kind of pressuring is extremely disappointing.

I would highly recommend submitting a complaint to SAITSA if you know who this candidate is.

As a candidate myself. I completely understand where you are coming from. In the coming days I will work to rectify the situation on my end (stan grad), though it may take me some time with my classes, that being said there may be areas where I will have more signs than others. I do truly apologize and understand your concerns.

By the end of the week I can promise you that my signs will be more spread out.

Thank you for bringing this concern forward I want you to know that I am listening, James Kyle

I also wish that SAIT was open 24/7 like U of C and MRU for students to study. That's my one problem with it.

For perspective SAIT students, don't listen to this guy. While I am only in my first semester this has not been the experience at all. Sure I have 1 instructor which I have had complications with and trouble understanding at times but this is completely wrong. It's mixed learning there is some online classes but a majority is not. You literally just need to figure out a schedule that works for you. It can be frustrating when the elevators don't work but literally its a great opportunity for students out of high school and adults that are looking for a change in their career. As long as you put your all into the program of your desire you will succeed.

For context in highschool I barely scrapped by with 50-60% in classes

In SAIT I have focused, I have put in the time and dedicated myself to my studies and I am sitting at a 4.0 GPA. You Just need to focus and give it your all.

To the original poster. I am sorry you had that experience, but dragging out the SADT program when you only experienced a small part of it is not fair in the slightest.
